if i had a nickel every time two versions of a song were played back to back in my show i'd have two etc
do you get what i’m saying
one great thing about heated rivalry is that it has taught me a very tiny amount of russian and it's all really weird words
in other news. im reading a russian mob boss castiel fic (peak) and. i was fairly certain he was calling dean babygirl. i was right i do not know what to do with this information
cw heated rivalry and it's literally ilya who's hated by his brother and silently his father's favorite son and he can never go home again.
shane could be the boyking of hell I fear
I don’t know if this is anything. This might be nothing .but that picture of Connor in the parking lot with the amulet looking Dean as hell made me think about how Ilya is actually the younger brother. He leaves and becomes successful without his family. He’s afraid of getting sucked back in. If Ilya is Sam I think this makes Shane Ruby?
this is everything actually. i feel like the guilt of leaving your family behind to pursue what you really want, what you feel like is your path in life (get a law degree/play hockey) is absolutely delicious and amazing to watch, especially if it implies that the family you're leaving behind being will be incredibly messed up by and about the whole thing. i also love love love the fact that the traitor son is still daddy's fave, despite of everything and right in the face of the one who stayed. I love that in both cases the father is incredibly proud but will never ever speak it.
in this parallel, shane could totally be ruby, but what if he was jessica (his dream girl, burning on the ceiling in a white dress /this isn't anything, im just having a lot of thoughts about white and purity today/, dead because sam did actually go back to his family). makes one wonder what would've happened to jess if sam hadn't, or even better, what would happened to Shane if ilya had gone back to Russia instead of the cottage? for the sake of this #ourthis, we might argue he would've made himself find and marry a nice girl and live the rest of his days living a life and avoiding himself (maybe he would've started playing bad hockey too, like scott before kip. that would've made him dead in all the ways that matter). i also like the idea of shane maybe being madison (werewolf girl they thought they could cure) just because of the active hand sam had in her death. what if ilya had known that turning his back to shane for the sake of his family/to go back to his country would've been the end of him and did it anyways?? eventually, ilya gets to be free of his family and pursue his dream and marry his dream partner (obv it's not a perfect ending but it's better than he could have hoped for with the cards he was dealt). would sam have gotten to have the same thing if he had turned his back to dean, to his duty as a son, when he came to him in the dead of the night asking for help?
every time i see the gymshark logo on shane’s workout fits i think it’s the mark of cain. so yeah. mark of shane.
