Although Gretchen is obviously the direct parallel to Heather Duke, I think Janis is actually much closer, had she not been kicked out of the Plastics. Janis and Heather both both show disdain for the leader of their clique, both have a mean streak separate and unique from their leader, and, if you ask me, both have feelings for their leader despite their jealousy and desire for power (Heather) or freedom (Janis).

Heather did not take part in bullying Martha. Chandler and Duke did, and she stood by and watched it, but never actively bullied her herself. While you could argue that being a bystander is just as bad, Heather did not do anything outright maliciously to Martha, and saying she’s just as guilty by association is ridiculous, especially when canonically even Martha doesn’t see it that way and their friendship is implied after the events of the movie/musical.

19. What’s their least favourite genres? Music: Classical, heavy metal, hard rock. Books: anything and everything except tabloid magazines and fairytales. Movies: Documentaries, horror, action and foreign language films.

29. What do they do when they find out someone else’s fear? Do they tease them? Or get very over protective? If it’s someone the Heathers dislike, she runs to Heather Chandler with it. Post-Heathers and regardless of when if it’s a friend of hers, she’s not protective or mean, she’s just very supportive and understanding and tries to remember it so if it ever comes up she can comfort them.
