Preventing Heatstroke: Essential Tips
Being young, I would not be facing any serious problems this summer but special attention has to be paid to heatstroke because with young individuals acute conditions associated with hot weather occur in the warm season most of the time. Here are some key strategies:
1.Stay Hydrated: Ensure the body is hydrated always this is approximately a cup every one hour or every 15-20 minutes during exercises.
2.Avoid Strenuous Activities: Avoid going outdoors when the sun is hottest, between 11 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon and use breaks in-between.
3.Use Air Conditioning: If possible, remain indoors especially in the ac conditioned areas of the building.

4.Dress Appropriately: Loose and light coloured clothing, wide-brims hats should be worn if one is to protect him/herself from the sun.
5.Know the Symptoms: Know such symptoms of dehydration and heat illnesses as dizziness, fatigue or confusion.
6.Check on Vulnerable Individuals: Look out for children, the elderly and pets to avoid them overheating and to make they are all right.
