Or rather, it reminds me of a thing I wish I could ask the writers of the show and them give me a productive answer:
So like... Heaven functions by creating a sort of peaceful cocoon around people, right? And they know they’re in heaven right?
If you convinced someone about to go to heaven that they were about to go to hell, would they then, when they got their assumed they were in hell and tried to escape? Even though it functioned the same as heaven would normally? Would heaven change for that person to convince them it’s heaven?
I’ve always kind of wondered what would happen if someone interpreted heaven as hell in the show since yeah, it does technically trap people in it. People are told its the best place to go, and as an option, it does seem better in the show, but I’d imagine it wouldn’t take much to convince someone they were actually trapped if they were convinced beforehand.
