"I think I'd feel kinda silly drinking milk out of a wine glass, so we're just gonna have these for now," Solène decided, popping the tops off two beer bottles before handing one to Hayes and turning back into the kitchen to gather the needed ingredients for cookies. "Baking is a hobby I picked up when Izzy was in elementary school, and once my attempts weren't burnt on the bottom or unnecessarily chewy on the inside, I got permission from Izzy and her friends to start sending them in for school bake sales and class parties," she chuckled. "How are you with an oven? Any experience?"

"You wanna do what?" Her head tipped to the side, confusion written across her features as his words sunk in. He didn't need to repeat them, she hear him just fine, but as she searched her memory bank from years ago, she couldn't recall if her ex had ever asked to do the same with Izzy, though the thought did warm her heart a little. A smile broke out slowly across Solène's face, and eventually she nodded her consent. "Yeah, uh... yeah, of course. I guess they should probably be able to kinda hear you by now anyway," she informed him, her hand falling to her stomach instinctively.

Henry's eyes opened slowly, and his expression softened into a slightly dopey smile at the soft touch of lips to his forehead, reaching up so that he could kiss Alex properly. "Morning," he greeted sleepily, nudging their noses together. "Sleep well, love?"
