It's basically like saying sniper is married to a kangaroo, even though he clearly doesn't. Demoman said that because soldier did it first, and he thought "if soldier can make stuff up, I can too". So, he made up a fact about medic that "he has a wife" despite the fact that medic is married to heavy.
