Fashion Backwards ♧ Ophelia & Okou
In the trendy boutique Ophelia looked like a woman in the wrong time. In spite of her stature in looks and dress alone she was modelesque. She made the perfect cover girl for a magazine in the 1950s, not 2016. Regardless of the fact she arrived from 2281. As she looked through the clothing Ophelia could not help but feel disconcerted. She was used to being the hippest pussycat in the room. According to those around her she looked like something from yesteryear.
The popularized clothing of this time period left Ophelia fairly confused. The natural born survivor could get used to the harshest more radiated environment. These ‘fashion’ crop tops and booty shorts however left her speechless. It was one thing to want light armor, it was another things to run around almost naked. In her world that was how prostitutes and strippers dressed. Now Ophelia loved a good prostitute and stripper. The thing was she was neither.
Even the clothing that was not revealing puzzled Ophelia. Most of them seemed so impractical. So many ruffles and lace made them seem cumbersome to move. How could you hide a weapon in ‘jeggings’? Clothing even has all of these strange sayings on it she did not understand. Why would one want the # sign on them? Did people love math that much in this time period? Now she finally understood what ‘culture shock’ was.
Ophelia loved fashion and being stylish. Yet she was not sure if such non-essential revealing clothing was really appropriate for the Courier Six. How could she be taken seriously in it? As she looked at various mini dressed the petite wastelander felt lost. She might as well have been back in the Big Empty. “What is a ring a dig gal supposed to do?” A sigh escaped her lips as she held a skin tight mini dress against herself and looked in the mirror. “Is this really how a normal girl dresses nowadays?” If this was the clothing of a world without a nuclear apocalypse, perhaps it was for the best.
