i’m really excited for gaiman to be off the project for good omens. i feel like this can be a new start for the series. this feels like a true death of the author moment, and things feel so limitless now. good omens doesn’t have to be just gaiman’s project. it never has been. hundreds of production designers and artisans, director for seasons 1 and 2 douglas mackinnon, composer david arnold, the actors, guest writers and writers john finnemore and terry pratchett— there’s so many wonderful people who have been making and telling this story we all love so much. there’s so much more it can be and will be soon, as it lives on.

Guys I just realized, I think the ‘and they aren’t talking’ isn’t about them giving each other the silent treatment. No,

It’s about their communication issues.

They aren’t talking. They’re never talking. That’s always been their problem. And that’s from the millennia of them never being allowed to talk, causing them to have to develop an indirect communication style that has both saved and damned them.

They don’t talk about things—they make executive decisions on their own to protect them both and need the other person say, “Yes, and,” and when the other person doesn’t, it’s felt as a betrayal. They never learned how else to solve problems. And that was their downfall.

For the story to end—for the world to be saved—they need to figure out how to talk to each other, and finally solve their greatest problem together.

DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE SPOILERS (skip if you need)

I want to track all of the beats that are queer coded/straight up queer that i recall:

i like wade wilson’s gay ass friend group. that’s a gaggle of queers right there and he’s one of them

deadpool went on a bunch of dates to find a wolverine he can take home haha, then finally picked one up at a bar by saying “i want you”

they have a lot of sex. like they literally do. like i don’t even have to describe it. they have sex like 20 times in like three different instances including in a honda odyssey and in the desert and various other moments

the one thing that could have made this more queer was if logan’s emotional climaxes were spent more with wade (they have a couple but he spends a good amount of them with like the villain princess diana lady but then again i don’t know the wolverine movies enough to know what was appropriate)

the whole thing with how deadpool’s universe needed a wolverine to be whole. and then the movie ends with wade’s life being made complete by welcoming logan into his home (HE CANONICALLY MOVES IN?!)

i was so sure that after wade called out to logan on the street and was like “you can stay with me :)” and logan was like smiling i WAS SURE the cut to their door opening was gonna have them shove the door open making out sloppy style

edit: adding another one, i liked that wade’s gender blind. slayed

now they have a dog and live together. fantastic
