Herd of tauros to be released into Highlands to recreate aurochs effect

Large, cattle-like tauros will shape landscape and strengthen wildlife as huge, extinct herbivore once did

The thing about Heck cattle versus Tauros cattle is that aurochs were genuinely aggressive bastards. Tauros may be easier for husbandry but Heck are more behaviorally accurate.

Cattle may trace back to as few as one anomalously docile aurochs male, the one who was content to be captured and held by humans.

Heck cattle -  a breed of domestic cattle (Bos primigenius) bred to look like the extinct Auerochs - that I  met during my holiday bike tour today.

I saw a documentary about Nazis and their plan to breed back the aurochs, and the result was the Heck Cattle.  Göring wanted to bring this species back because... he wanted to hunt and kill them. Imagine wanting to resurrect an animal just to kill it again.

Also Heck Cattle are beautiful.
