let’s talk about kon while ichigo and the other’s go to save orihime from hueco mundo for a moment.
there are filler’s through the saga where kon fights as the karakurizer king and even though is basically played off as a joke, i want to say that kon does it mostly because it gets his mind off of worrying about orihime and the other’s. he feels useless all the time being in that plushie, but being able to take over ichigo’s body throughout the saga, he feels like he can do something good and will do what he can to protect the town.
he can finally DO SOMETHING other than just wait around and wait to hear that the other’s are okay. and he uses it to take down the hollows that still ransack the place. he might over exert himself most days, but that’s just so he can fall asleep at night without having to be awake in his mind for longer than he has to be.
