The Jacobs sheep, stang and skull piece is now finished. The other name I was contemplating for this piece was the crooked key, at the foot of the stang in amongst the candles and chalices is what looks to be an old iron key. It is bent and twisted out of shape to a degree but it will still unlock what is kept in the shadows. The best time to get a sense of the universe is on a clear crisp night when we can see the stars, and galaxies that inhabit our skies. In the shadow of darkness lies such beauty and the pathway to the universe. Three red silk pouches, that I have crated. Each contain a little bit of magic, to enliven each of the Fetches. A cats eye shell with its spiral doorway, Frankincense for connecting with the spirits of old, Moroccan Rose for love, oud for connection with spirit, Lavender to ease your worries, a feather for clarity of thought and tree gum for connection to spirit of place, and a smidge of dragons blood to hold it all together and give it that extra bit of oomph.. . And for those who hold no truck with Magic, it smells really nice, there are top notes of lavender, middle notes of rose, and chunky bottom notes of oud and dragons’ blood. This is the second piece in the Stang and Skull collection. The Roebuck Hedge. And I am extremely pleased with how it had come out. I am quite pleased with my choices of what bits to stitch in matching thread and what bits to stitch in black. So much so that once I have finished it and hung it to be photographed, I was all who made that? I presume other artists go though the same thing? . any way I now need to contemplate what altar theme to do for this piece for a Calendar photoshoot.
