Hedgerow Bugs
Hedgerow Bugs #365DaysWild
On day 109 of 365 Days Wild I went bug hunting along the meadow hedgerows.
The highlight of my outing were the two male Gold Chaser Dragonflies (Sympetrum striolatum), both if whom posed nicely in the sun for photographs. There was at least one female about, as well, but she didn’t seem to want to have her photo taken and settled high up in the hedge.
There were also lots of flies about. I…

It should be noted that I am a TRANSWOMAN and a WITCH. Two very vital and distinct aspects of who I am. I give my life to the service of the Old Gods. I am NOT Christian, yet I respect those who follow the actual teachings of their Christ. Being a Priestess in the Service of the Gods and a Witch who views Magick without color but as being Passive, Assertive, and Aggressive ... I walk the Path of Balance and Justice. I am one who, as I was told growing up in the church, “stands in the gap between (the Gods) and men.” I am a Hedge Witch. Much like the stories of prophetesses and watchtowers from my childhood ... I am a Seer, a Guardian, a Hedge Walker, a Priestess. I will not lay silently when injustice comes to the front doors of innocents! I will screech like the Owl of Night and tear down hatred and violence, regardless of race, gender, and sexuality! Do not mistake my kindness, my simpleness, my hopefulness for weakness. I believe with all my might The Witches’ Rede (“Harm None”) but a Witch I aspire to be like, Sybil Leek, stated, “Evil allowed to exist harms everyone.” I call to my fellow Witches who follow The Rede to stop finding excuses to stand by and allow injustices to continue to occur! Do not abuse your Power and hold onto your White Privilege! #enoughisenough #theoldways #hedgewalker #witchesagainstracism #witchesagainstoppression #witchesagainsthate #witchesagainstwhitesupremacy (at Hagerstown, Maryland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CBIHmXtJg77/?igshid=zxkn0802tg8y
The Hedgewalker
Art by Byron Swain
Mechanics by Marek
One of the most standard classes of all fantasy adventure settings is the rogue, also known as the thief or the ranger, and that archetype remains in our game with a good witchy twist. Hedgewalkers have the ability to cross the border they call the “hedge,” the plane between life and death where only phantoms dwell. This unique ability not only lets them bypass the physical boundaries of our world by crossing through them on the other side of the hedge, but it also lets them interact with spirits not accessible by any other means. The Hedgewalker is generally the most subtle member of a circle, able to strike where other crones cannot and move through places as if she was never there.
In battle, the Hedgewalker’s primary ability is represented by the “Hedgewalk” card, which represents the Hedgewalker’s enhanced mobility by granting her extra initiative tokens. This makes her one of the few types of crone that generate this advantage throughout combat at any point, and gives her the ability to take more actions on a turn. As a result she will often have the choice between regularly spending her extra initiative on cards that are always useful to be playing, like the attack-repeating “Phantom Run,” or saving up for one large extravagant combo on a later turn.
A Hedgewalker can be a daunting crone for the Game Master to deal with. What may be a difficult challenge for the others in her circle might be something a Hedgewalker can bypass with ease. But, therein lies the rub. An encounter is not generally won if merely the Hedgewalker survives, and a conflict isn’t resolved just because the Hedgewalker can get around it. By creating complex situations, the GM can still provide interesting challenges that the Hedgewalker must work to help her sisters resolve.
Raises hand for Joy of Cooking bibliomancy. Me meeee!
Gravy boats and various small spouted containers are traditional ways to serve hot or cold sauces, but there are other attractive ways to serve them.
in other words, dont be afraid to branch out!

The explanation is that the person running thewitchblog is… well, let’s just say “misguided" and be polite. :)

Don’t trust anything from that blog, mate. We avoid it like the plague for a reason. The owner is a misinformed obnoxiously rude troll.
Oh, I'm definitely not trusting anything from it. I was just wondering what crevice they might have pulled that from. I guess I didn't realize just how deep the crazy went. Ah well. Thanks.
