"I'm not gay. I like women. But I realized that if I say I'm not and vehemently deny it, it's rude and hurtful to people who are actually gay. It's just a matter of preference, and it's just that everyone is different with different values. I decided I don't care even if people who have prejudices about me think that way. Recently, those rumors were posted in the group chat room with Super Junior members and the managers. I was thinking, 'Who is this?' while reading it, and it turned out it was me at the end. The members and I laughed a lot about it. When the label asked if we should counter it, I said no. I'd of course, counter it if they were rumors about me doing illegal things. At first, I didn't like those rumors, so I grew a beard and cut my hair. But recently, I talk about the rumors myself so much that my mother texted me and asked what I'd do if I got caught up in rumors again, haha.” - Heechul, Super Junior
Heechul: During a time when I had wanted to become very rebellious, Yesung and Donghae were the members who brought me back to the right path.
Yesung: We talk on the phone a lot.
Heechul: We are the two Super Junior members who fought with each other the most.
Heechul: It's a program that I really love so I really wanted to go on in but (when we tried to go on it together) one member enlisted in the military and when another member tried to go on it another one enlisted... We have a lot of members. Back then, they didn't even have many mics so we were forced to lip sync at times. If I have to pick the expert of lip syncing out of all, then it would be Shindong.
Shindong: It's because I didn't have any parts.
Kim Jong Kook: Why were you in Super Junior then?
Lee Soo Geun: I work with Heechul a lot so I know very well and it's understandable that he gets mistaken (as gay). He really knows a lot of girl groups. He gives advice on their songs, outfits, etc. Not as a man but as a good sunbae. He even has video calls with Seolhyun when she has no makeup on. Every girl group member answers Heechul's video call. He also went on a trip to Gapyeong as the only male. I saw the pictures and Heechul was the prettiest.
Heechul: They said that it's comfortable to meet me because rumors don't form. I'm close with label CEOs and some of them even ask me to get close with their artists. If I'm really interested in them (as a girlfriend) then I don't try to get close to them like that.
"We had to film a kiss scene together. I was cautious about my title as an idol so I kissed Uhm Hyun Kyung on the chin but that got an NG (No Good). So I kissed her on the philtrum but that also got an NG. I was getting so many NGs that I seriously worried about using my tongue.” - Heechul, Super Junior
"[Hyosung] said you have a more serious personality than expected, and gave good advice on matters. It's because I don't have any other intentions toward [his female friends]. You keep raising yourself up! You're about to start your engine on your airplane!" - Heechul, Super Junior
"I moved from Gangwon-do to Seoul when I was 20-years-old. I always listened to music and I told (staff noona) that I was listening to KISS' music. The noona then told me that I shouldn't listen to that kind of music but listen to Linkin Park and study. So I said, 'Noona, rock music isn't something that you can study.' She yelled at me for talking back and told me to write up an apology. I responded, 'I'm not sorry for anything but I'll do it anyway since you're telling me to'. I got suspended often. They told me not to come for awhile and I just said ok. I used to live in dorms with Donghae and Yunho. They would ask if I really don't have to go and I said, 'They will call me when they need me'. When I think about it now, it makes me cringe.” - Heechul, Super Junior
