Everyday Life

How do normal people do it? How do they get up five days a week, at the exact time, following the exact same chain of events untill maybe a specific day in particular, the minimal odds of something different happening finally occur? How do they frantically follow the same routine, even to the point of days melting into each other and the divisory line between them fading? Is every small victory in a day enough for a week of agony?

And what’s more: How can they go out of their own way to be nice to other people? People they might not even see ever again or worse... that they actually dislike? Asking the same monotonic questions which, with time, lose all meaning, value and sense. How can they be proud of saying they’ve been doing this for years, and to expect it to continue for even more?

Maybe ignorance really is bliss. Maybe I’m painting the picture darker than it is lighter, seeing only the shades of black.

Or maybe, just maybe... I was right from the very start. Normal people can do this. I just can not.
