Spencer didn’t know what was happening or why, but it had really freaked him out. He’d awoken for work that morning, only to discover that he’d grown a cat tail and cat ears overnight. The ears were only a slightly darker brown than his hair, the tips white. The tail was fluffy and was the same shade as his ears, the tip of it white as well. He thought that it was a prank at first, that maybe Morgan had broken into his apartment somehow and had put them on him. But he’d tried to take them off and was unable, discovering that the ears and tail were attached to his skin.
Since he didn’t own any appropriate hats, Spencer had to leave his apartment with his new ears on display. His tail hung out of the back of his pants, dragging as he walked. As he turned a corner near the subway station, he felt a sharp pain in the tail. A cat-like yowl fell from his lips, turning to see what had happened. He saw a girl standing there, an apologetic look on her face as she moved her foot away from his tail.
“I’m sorry,” Spencer said with a small smile. “I didn’t mean to…to react like that. I’m not used to having it just yet.”
