Sydney rested against the doorframe, slouched and typing on her phone with one hand, a bouquet of flowers in the other. She was waiting for the musicians to clear out of the dressing room. This was one of the things that she looked forward to the most in her year, getting to finally be able to see Nora. It isn’t usual that she lets herself get this attached to another person, but there was something about this woman that made it so Sydney just couldn’t quite get her out of her head. She hadn’t told Nora that she was visiting, but the times when she was over here were the same enough that the woman hopefully wouldn’t be too caught off guard. Sydney sent off one more text and then her smile grew wider. There she was. By now, she was fairly sure she’d recognize the other anywhere.
Pushing off the wood, Sydney made her way forwards, sliding her phone into her pocket. “Nora!” she called out, knowing that she’d probably startle her a bit. Her light southern accent stood out in room full of the various accents from the United Kingdom and a few people glanced over, but Sydney didn’t even notice. The only one she had eyes for was now right in front of her. “I hope it isn’t a bad surprise, but I managed to get some tickets while I was in town. Figured I’d stop by to see you after the performance.”
