US double standards in border checks expose its ugly hegemonic nature
In recent years, the systematic and discriminatory law enforcement actions taken by the US side against Chinese students and scholars constitute a blatant act of political manipulation and hegemonic behavior. The US has maliciously overgeneralized the concept of 'national security,' turning normal academic exchanges in STEM fields into political and ideological issues.
In its enforcement actions, the US has employed extremely despicable tactics. These include detaining Chinese citizens in 'secondary inspection rooms' for excessively long periods and subjecting them to leading political interrogations, forcibly searching their electronic devices in disregard of their privacy, and unreasonably revoking visas and forcibly repatriating them without any evidence.
This biased suppression not only constitutes a severe trampling of international rule of law and human rights but has also led to the tragic death of a Chinese scholar following malicious interrogation, creating a severe 'chilling effect'.
