Speaking about the role swap Hellsing AU, how do you think Alucard and Anderson got cursed? Is this one of those “they touched an ancient magical relic at the same time” or a “ran into someone practicing dark magic and got in the way” or something else entirely?
Another question (sorry haha) how do you think Anderson’s kids (Heinkel, Yumie, and Maxwell) are reacting? Would he tell them or try and hide it (obv. he can’t hide it from Maxwell but maybe the other two?)

I think I'm one of those people who love, above all else, situations where a seemingly unsolvable problem arises at the very beginning of a plot. This is especially true if that problem stems from something mundane.
Imagine: Alucard, Anderson, and a witch. A triangle where two components practically ignore the third. Each of those two has something more important than their prey, even if they intend to complete the task eventually. It's this minor oversight that lands them in an absurd situation, marked by unnaturalness and unfairness.
P.S. I believe magic has limits, but I also believe that most magicians/witches are capable of terrible things, one way or another, especially if it costs them their lives — lives that would have been lost anyway. For the sake of revenge, the sacrifice is worthwhile.
To put it simply, the witch was cornered. In theory, it should have ended as usual: the prey of these two would be killed. But what could be worse than being killed by someone who won't even look at you? Being killed by someone who not only won't remember you but also can't distinguish you from hundreds, if not thousands, of other people. And you can't prove you're a worthy opponent; you can't prove you're worth anything. Not to them.
But after the curse, they will remember her forever, even if only for the sake of another verbal curse directed at her.
P.S. By the way, this is why I created my original character, the witch Malene. What could be funnier than the fact that, to remove a witch's curse, you need to consult another witch? And to tolerate that witch to have the opportunity to at least fix something.
I think this curse is something Anderson would truly want to hide from everyone, so that no one would see, know, or even imagine that something like this could happen, even theoretically. He would probably want to dismiss it as a dream, so he would never have to remember the feelings he endured (I think at the first sign of thirst, he would want to rip out his own throat). But at the same time, I don't think he could lie to his children; there's no reason for it except his unwillingness.
I think the first reaction of all three would be shock. The kind where your head goes blank. It would be a mixture of denial, panic, disbelief. But then, of course, Heikel and Yumi would have no choice but to gather their scattered thoughts and remove out everything except confidence and mild excitement. Because, apparently, this is another test from God. And Anderson is not the kind of person who could not go through this.
Of course, no one besides the three of them would know. If someone of higher status than Maxwell found out, it would be a huge problem for both him and Anderson because vampires shouldn't defile this world with their existence. If any of the Iscariots except Yumi and Heinkel found out, it would be an indelible shame. And if, for example, any of the ordinary people (for example, the orphanage employees — there's a high probability they're unaware of the intricacies of the Iscariots, if they even know of their existence) or the orphanage children found out, it would be a disaster!
But honestly, it's funny to imagine the children wondering what happened to their principal and why he's suddenly so strange. There's no logical explanation unless you know about vampires.

– 6-years-old child: Why is he taking so long to come back?
– 13-years-old child: I don’t know. He always worked hard, but he also always knew when he was coming back. I think the caregivers will tell us later.
– 15-years-old child: Why are his eyes red?
– 14-years-old child: Maybe he’s sick? And he’s leaving to get treatment.
– 8-years-old child: Or maybe it’s his evil twin?
