Paper Errands | Heksis
It wasn’t often that Io was given Tower-bound errands, but when she’d approached Cayde that morning he had shuffled a stack of paperwork her way and told her to find Ikora’s newest ‘accordion grinder’. She’d laughed and told him she would, and was surprised at the relief in his expression. Cayde rarely showed extreme amounts of gratitude, so she knew he was bogged down.
She didn’t mind, really. It gave her a reason to wander the Tower a bit longer. Not enough time was spent here nowadays, and Io decided that she would revel in it. Perhaps when she was done she would stop by and see how Eris was doing. That woman seemed so lonely sometimes that it made her heart ache, and she’d told herself a long time ago that she would make sure to stop every once in a while and check on her.
Clutching the stack of paperwork to her chest, she passed through a large, arched doorway into the Warlock’s library. She figured she’d find him here, but realized upon seeing half a dozen un-recognizable faces that she might have to ask for help.
The first Warlock she spoke to ignored her, and she grumbled to Akros as she weaved in and out of shelved hallways about how haughty most of the ‘space magicians’ were. She had to laugh to herself, for she rarely said such things about her fellow Guardians, but the nerve of some of them! She shook her head and rounded a corner. She was about to ask another person about her missive, but stopped when she realized that there was a Fallen in the aisle- a dreg, to be exact. She looked at Akros, who shook himself back and forth in a gesture of ‘i don’t know’, and then turned her attention back to the strange fellow. He was speaking to Ikora, but the two seemed to be ending their conversation. And was that... a Ghost hovering next to him?
Io didn’t know what to make of it.
She listened as Ikora and the dreg exchanged goodbyes, and she heard the dreg called ‘Heksis’. So this is who she’s been looking for.
After steeling herself and swallowing down her instinct, she approached.
“Excuse me, are you Heksis?”
