38 and 39 from the HOF asks for everyone please?
Thank you! I can always count on you for some asks, <3
Leila Tabris
38. Is there any decision that the Warden regrets? If so, which is it and why? How would they change it?
Overall, there isn't anything she'd do differently. Leila was my completely good run, where she does everything right, gets everyone on board to fight the Blight, even recruits Loghain as a warden while Anora and Alistair rule together. But as far as things that were out of her hands, everything involving the alienage and Tevinter. She wishes she could've saved more of the elves, wished she could've gone after the magisters. But all she can promise to them is that she'll avenge them, hunting magisters with Zevran post-game.
39. Do the events of the Fifth Blight haunt the Warden or have they moved past it completely?
She thinks about Shianni, how everything affected her. And Soris, losing his wife. And all of her friends who didn't make it because of the Blight. She holds onto these things, mourns who was lost, mourns the future her people might've had. But good things also came out of it. The alienage gained more freedom, she has the ear of the King and Queen of Ferelden, and has her own power as Warden Commander. And she uses all of those things to make life better for elves, and for everyone.
Elissa Cousland
38. Is there any decision that the Warden regrets? If so, which is it and why? How would they change it?
As much as she pretends she doesn't, she regrets Isolde's death. At the time, she did what she thought she needed to. And while she didn't trust Jowan, she didn't know if Eamon had the time to spare for them to go to the Circle and get help. There was a chance no one could help either. It was a way for Jowan to redeem himself, but when Isolde gave up her life to save her son, Elissa was reminded of her own mother, giving up her life to make sure she made it out without Howe's men coming after her. And it hurt. As far as how she'd change things, she doesn't know. There is never a correct path to take and she did what she had to with the information she had. At the very least, she'd try to make sure mother and son got to see each other again, without a demon in the way.
39. Do the events of the Fifth Blight haunt the Warden or have they moved past it completely?
Elissa tries not to dwell on the Fifth Blight. Mainly because there wasn't anything she could've done to change it. Maybe she would've questioned Howe more, maybe she wouldn't have trusted Loghain, maybe she would've taken the throne herself. Nothing is certain and the past can't be changed. So she finds there is no reason to dwell on it. Instead, she focused on the things she can do and does them well.
Heledd Aeducan
38. Is there any decision that the Warden regrets? If so, which is it and why? How would they change it?
I think the only thing Heledd regrets, though she doesn't hate the way life worked out for her, is letting Bhelen get away with what he did to her. She doesn't even care about Trian's death, only that her youngest brother used her to gain power. That, and losing Gorim, though it worked out in their favor. Gorim was protected from the politics of Orzammar, find a decent life on the surface, and Heledd found a new purpose with the wardens. So while she regrets how things happened, she doesn't regret the end.
39. Do the events of the Fifth Blight haunt the Warden or have they moved past it completely?
Heledd isn't the type of person to let things weigh on her. She does her job, does it well, and moves on once the results meet her satisfaction. And yes, bad things happened during the Blight, but she's seen darkspawn, lived around them for her entire life. None of what happened was a shock to her.
