It had been a long day. Tijen had gotten up before the rest of her cabin - and there were some very early risers - and was now spending her free hour the same as she always did: scribbling non-stop in her ‘Ideas Journal’. The only thing different was the location. Sometimes she chose her bunk, sometimes the steps of the amphitheater, sometimes at the base of one of the marble columns of the dining pavilion. Today, she chose the beach. Not her favorite place, but it was quiet and almost empty. A nice place to think.
Thinking her time was almost up, Tijen checked her watch. Well, that was strange. She’d only been here nine minutes? It had seemed like an hour. Maybe it was broken? No. Couldn’t be. She closed her book and stood. She decided to use the rest of her time to try and put some of the ideas into action. When she turned to head up to the forge, however, she bumped into a tree. She fell back on her bottom, but her book went flying from her hand and… into the ocean. Tijen groaned loudly. Just great! Who puts a tree in the middle of a beach!? “Aww, man!! That was a whole week’s worth of work! Gone!”
She rubbed her forehead, wondering what to do now, when she realized… There weren’t trees on the beach. Tijen looked up slowly. Oh great gods. The blood drained from her face when she realized what she had actually bumped into. A person.
"I.." Still sitting in the sand, a mortified Tijen searched for words. How careless she had been! "Sorry, Miss!"
