Hazel wandered around, bored and feeling awfully alone. Everyone seemed so busy as of late whereas Hazel just felt useless. No one needed her to control the mist or navigate tunnels or call upon cursed treasure. She wasn't helping anyone and she wished that she could do something much better than just mope around and practice sparring with the nearby trees (she was being careful not to irriatate any spirits). 

"Gods almighty," she grumbled, "Why is everything so... boring?!"

Annabeth stood inside the Big House staring at posts on the bulletin board trying to search for anything new at all. But then she thought that if something was new, Chiron would have announced it. That didn't mean that she's depending on that as a source of information.
