Kage’s shadow manipulation abilities come from his soul itself, half of it has been consumed by Umbră Verve which is the energy/magic(kinda) of Lucius who is the demon responsible for giving his clan their powers.

Falling

Falling is what happens when a higher being or a mortal tied to one suffers such a deep break in their mind that their power becomes poisoned by their own emotions. Negative feelings begin to seep in, corrupting them from within, slowly rotting away the soul.

It’s the most excruciating thing any living being can endure. Your own tainted power turns against you, eating at your very essence, the very core of who you are. Bit by bit, you feel yourself being burned away. It’s like dying… only slower. Agonizingly slow. Like death at a snail’s pace.

And yet, that corrupted power feels good. Too good. Like a drug you can’t quit. It hurts, but it gives you something, lets you do something with the rage, with the pain. Finally, you can unleash it. The more you use it, the more it feeds itself, amplifying the rush, the high and the hole inside you grows. You chase it anyway. You need to. It's a vicious, addictive loop.

Until eventually, you’re drowning in it. Lost in it. Fallen so far into the abyss that there's nothing left of who you used to be.

All that remains in the end... is a ravenous monster.

I actually have several drafts of Helixed (my sonic AU) related lore and character content saved on here but I haven't posted them yet because I want to make it easy for people to understand.

My plain is to get all of the important concepts done first so that when I reference them later I can link back to the original post which explains what it is.

I've been struggling to figure out how to put Sonic Frontiers into the "cannon" of Helixed and I finally got some ideas while driving home to tonight. Just gonna smash these down as points for now tell I can flesh it out more. 

Spoilers for Sonic Frontiers 

The End is an incantation of Halivor the last Brother of Creation and a Fallen God.

The Ancients and the Chaos Emeralds are from another dimension entirely, specifically the very first dimension ever created. Now since destroyed by Halivor.

The Ends speech fits perfectly with how Halivor feels. He was once responsible for the control and order of everything and in his madness wishes to bring the end of existence itself to end everything as that will finally silence the sound of creation.
