Hikaru and her new manager
Many of you have probably picked up on the fact that Hikaru’s official staff account on Twitter @Helicalproject is run by a new manager who is very eager to increase traffic on social media. We are getting regular updates these days, she is literally spoiling us with all these cute pics and comes up with different projects which allow fans to interact with Hikaru. It’s obvious that she is very invested in Hikaru’s well-being and success, providing a lot of support for her and encouraging her to take on new challenges and to not be afraid of change.
A handful of Japanese fans are apparently not too happy with all the recent changes and feel the need to express their disapproval by over-analysing every word and spreading the rumour of Hikaru’s personal account slowly becoming less personal/being taken over by her manager(??) - going as far as to suggest that recent tweets by Hikaru might in fact have not been her own etc.. When I first saw a couple of these comments yesterday, I honestly wrote them off as dumb and unfounded, @sa-nyan and I even discussed the matter for a while but then I was ready to move on from it.
However, it seems like Hikaru and her team have also seen those tweets and judging from their reaction, they most definitely do not approve of anything that those people are insinuating. I have since gone back to read more of the comments and yeah, a few of them are pretty bad. Even decided to block that @a_akimyon person because their way of talking didn’t sit well with me.
Hikaru has just released an official statement on her Fan Club “Helixes”, addressing the issue. I guess she has chosen a more contained platform instead of her Twitter account to prevent unnecessary drama? Either way, it’s clear from the way her statement is worded that she is incredibly upset about the whole matter. I won’t share the entire statement but I would like to highlight certain parts of it:
Hikaru ensures us that no one, I repeat, NO ONE, but herself is posting on her private Twitter account @Hikaru_0702_ and at NO POINT in the future will there ever be anyone else who uses that account. All tweets and replies (incl. the ones from her most recent guerilla reply event) are written by Hikaru herself and not her manager. Claiming anything else is pretty much slander and could potentially harm Hikaru’s image and cause trouble for her team as well as her fanbase
Hikaru is not stagnant, she is changing and will continue to change. She is taking on new challenges and discovering new parts of herself. People need to accept the fact that Hikaru is evolving and cannot be reduced to the Kalafina-era image everyone still seems to have of her. Yes, the decade of Kalafina was a formative experience for her and makes up a lot of who she is but she is so much more than that. Even if it is maybe a hard pill to swallow for some fans, Hikaru is more than Kalafina’s Hikaru. She is her own person, working on her own career path as solo artist. Having said that, it is certainly not Hikaru’s intention to alienate her loyal fans from back in the day. She appreciates everyone’s support and wants to continue having a close relationship with all of us. She just hopes that people would stop making unfounded accusations like that.
They will try their best to prevent such rumours from spreading (blocking/reporting users) but if this should continue, Hikaru is considering to close her account. These accusations have quite obviously hurt her feelings and I think she doesn’t know how to deal with this. [From the get-go, she has been putting herself out there, trying to connect with her fans and THIS is how they repay her. I hope those idiots will shut their mouth from now on]
So everyone, stay respectful, don’t abandon Hikaru at the first signs of change and don’t believe stupid rumours on Twitter! PEACE ✌
