I am becoming a successful DM and it is a beautiful thing. I am running homebrew monsters to fuck with a player who has read the Monster Manual every time since AD&D appeared. I am throwing investigative plots at players exhausted by 4E and its combat emphasis. I am building terrain so they can do all the stupid awesome shit they have ever wanted to do. They own businesses and have guilds and temples and retainers. There are NPCs and seeds of future plots and world-shattering events and a richly detailed tapestry of a game world and--you wanna know the best part? I have no idea what I’m doing. NONE. And it’s GREAT!!!! :D
