i like practicing shitty bioluminescent stuff so here’s a bioluminescent version of my species kokubi and some regular doodles of some of my kokubies that i made
i don’t think im gonna do like a dta or anything for them tho bc i really like them and they’re the first ones ive made

ps: kokubi is pronounced koh-kuh-bee / kuh-koobee either or (though personally i say koh-kuh-bee bc it sounds cuter 2 me)

i still kinda have to figure out more on the kokubi species’ rules and etc. so i guess the mutuals who draw them just kinda ,, have fun ?? and keep it similar’ish 2 the ones up there?? idk my man just experiment with it a bit but try 2 keep it rrecognizable 2 a kokubi lol
theres no real rules to their patterns or colors and so far they’re known to be pretty big, (fully grown; 6-7ft to 4-5ft) they’re aquatic mammals and can live both on land and in water, though majority are in the water and they can tend to be a bit fluffier if they’re in colder weathers but the minimum fur is somewhere around what u see in the above doodles (also the shoulder pad thing on them aren’t always there, thats just how those ones are and they happen to have that bit of armor lol)
they mate for life !! typically,, some can be a bit of a heartbreaker tho haha
they have pretty good intelligence; nothing completely equivalent to humans, but much further above apes and can be taught to even speak fluent languages, though its typically much easier to teach them at a young age; you can also easily communicate with them in their own language via clicks, purrs, and coos of the like
full growns have whatever palette they have
juveniles (juvenile tuesday for example) are a bit more pastel/lighter than their grown palette will be
babies can have the same pastel/light or lighter or up to purely white and are fluffier than their adult versions (typically; sometimes they can stay as fluffy) its also possible for some or all colors to be fully vibrant in early stages and not pastel at all through life time, its just incredibly or overall very rare
they can have as low as 2 sets of us and up to 4 sets of eyes max, and majority of the time they’ll develop more eye sets over their span of life (juvenile tuesday only has 2 eyesets while adult has 3)
they can have a set of horns varying from 1 set to 4 sets max, and they can have fancy horns; even antler sets, though those are considerably more rare and a great hinderance on the kokubi because of size, noticeability, and maneuvering; this makes their large horns incredibly more uncommon because they’re not usually mates as the horns are undesirable
their markings can vary drastically; just have a hell of a time w it lmao
same applies to colors there’s no real restriction i guess
the baby kokubies are also a subset of species where their growth is stunted and they stay this tiny-
kokubies can be pets, but typically the adults aren’t kept as they’re big and need an obnoxiously extensive area to enjoy themselves as they travel in somewhat small tribal packs with one or two guardian kokubies depending on the size; this is because overall kokubies are an incredibly friendly and pacifist species, and guardian kokubies are raised in a more naturally aggressive or protective manner when necessary, but can be just as sweet as a typical kokubi if they deem it fit to be
kokubies are considered an alien aquatic/mammal species
those are fins on their sides not wings lol
kokubies can look from full bioluminescent to completely regular; definitely have in betweens (regulars with small bioluminescent antennae, spines, bioluminescents with pastel colors, regular fins and not spiny fins, etc.,)
they typically look tired like the above ones, mostly because of the structure of their eyes musually making it difficult to widen their eyes entirely, though it is possible for one to be born with eyes that are more awake than theirs, its just that usually they don’t seem awake for the sake of easier anatomy on them
