*Nuada Pov*
I circle the library searching for the perfect book to read to my love tonight. We finished an elvish tale about an elemental creating the most glorious forest. Now I am searching for the folk lore of the elvish. I believe she will adore this.
I strode through the halls ignoring the little ants scurrying around making pointless reports. The only reason I don't kill them all is because of her. She is a forest guardian it is in her nature to protect; I do not blame her. No matter how much it aggravates me. Once I make it to the landing bay seeing that they just landed. I run up searching for the Y/n. No matter where I go, I cannot find her, I searched the landing bay. Nothing. The library. Nothing. Our bedroom. Nothing. She is not here.
An overwhelming fear burst through me as I practically break down the common room door. "Demon, where is she!?"He stopped drinking is beer and looked up at me half drunk. Typical, leave it to the demon to drink himself to death right as he walks through the door. "Who?" He slurred rolling his head trying to act somewhat sober. "Who do you think, Y/n!" "I don't know, you check library she's always in there." "Of course, you fool. What kind of half-wit does not know where his own sister is!" He jumped up abruptly and squares up to me throwing his beer. "What kind of boyfriend doesn't know where his girl is. Huh, maybe this is your fault she is missing. She was fine on the ride here. We get here and she goes missing. Pretty suspicious."
"How dare you! I treat here nothing but in the most respect." "She went to her sanctuary." My sister piped up trying to stop a fight between us. "She is unwell brother, the mission hurt her: Not physically, but emotionally. She needs you; I can sense it." "Thank you, my sister. I will deal with you later demon." I turned to go to Y/n ignoring the demons. "Can't wait." Y/n's sanctuary is deep into the forest in old runes. She told me stories of how her and her father would stay there and train her how to use her wings properly. They would trade stories there for hours. She goes there whenever she needs to feel reassurance.
I sprinted across the trails as fast as I could to get to my love. After about an hour I make it there and I stop at the entrance. Dusk has settled a blue hue projecting on her delicate features. She sits in the middle of the runes, under a great tree. Crying her wing encasing her another habit of hers. She hides in her great wings so that the world could not see her weakness. As I get closer her sobs become more evident, anger, sadness and fear all swirl in me like a storm.
"My love, what troubles you?" I ask calmy sitting across from her, putting my hand on her soft wing. She didn't answer only got quieter. "My love why do you hide? Please show me your eyes my darling. Let me see you." She opens her wings slowly, looking at her knees. I come closer holding her chin gently lightly forcing her to look into my eyes. "What ails you, my heart?" "They killed him." She mumbled looking into my eyes defeated. "Who?" "The golem, he was trying to protect a little boy and they shot it! They shattered it!" She sobbed; I held her as she explained what happened. Her left wing cradling her left as the right-wing goes behind us. So, we are both under her cascading wings.
"I tried to shout for them to stop, but they wouldn't listen. Field agents never listen. They just shoot! I could have protected him; I could have saved him if I had time." I held her tighter, whispering into her ear. "No, my dear you couldn't. These agents are animals. Nothing more. Tell me who they are, and they will pay for their insolence." "Don't hurt them please." "Don't worry darling their blood will not be on your hands. They deserve to know the air of their ways." "Oh Nuada, please." I caressed her plump pink lips with my thumb gently shushing her. Pecking her delicious lips lightly. Just hovering over them I said "No one makes your heart break. No one will ever make you feel the need to hide. not while I'm here."
