Let's talk : Apollon and Helios
There's a lot of stuff I see around about 'Oh Helios is the sun, not Apollo' so I'm just making a post on this topic:
Both views work
Look, Apollon and Helios were often syncretized historically. While that belief has carried over into a lot of modern media, and I can admit that it sometimes ticks me off that people forget about Lord Helios, it isn't invalid to worship Apollon as the sun, just as it isn't invalid to worship His music aspect rather than His sunlight aspect.
Similarly, Artemis and Selene historically ended up syncretized, which is why many people think that Artemis is the moon rather than Lady Selene. It isn't invalid, nor is it a misconception--it's just what history developed to be.
Even if Helios and Apollon are different beings in your book, and They definitely started out that way, They might be blended in other people's practice, the same God by two different names, or They're both sun Deities.
It isn't invalid to worship Apollo as the sun, or Artemis as the moon.
