Jack didn’t think he liked the man-- he had seen how the stranger had looked at the dog-- but he smiled politely up at him anyway. “She sure is cute, isn’t she? Do you know if she belongs to anyone? ...Since she isn’t yours, I mean.”

It had been somewhat difficult, readjusting to life on the surface. Everything Jack had thought he had known about this world had been falsified, implanted in his mind, tailored to fit Fontaine’s agenda. He couldn’t trust a single memory of life before Rapture, and it made it difficult to blend into the masses and pretend that this was all routine.

Maybe that was why, when he caught sight of a man whose skin was stained with markings that reminded Jack of his own little tattoos, he stopped in his tracks and simply watched the man for a few moments. The stranger stood out against the drab backdrop of the rest of “normal” society, and Jack felt an almost warmth for this fellow outlier.

Jack rubbed absently at the chain tattoo on his left wrist and, after a moment’s hesitation, approached the other man. His little girls had been making new connections here on the surface, and it was time for Jack to start making those connections, too.

“Those are interesting.” Jack gestured vaguely at the man’s tattoos, feeling like a fool. He hated talking, especially when he ended up saying something this stupid and awkward.

Still. Nothing ventured, and all that.

my opinion on;

character in general: I’m always a slut of demon ocs and gosh diddly darn their demon oc is on fire. (Pun fuckin intended)how they play them: There’s always the threat of being generic with a demon oc, but they definitely are anything but that. Their character feels unique all the way down to their responses, and easily they stand out against any other. Plus, Tobias is a joy to listen to, and watch.the mun: They’re so patient, creative, and kind, and I hope we can get back to our threads eventually!!

6. Eating habits and sample daily menu.

((Helix eats a lot, because magic takes a lot of energy. since she had settled down in one place, she has put on some weight, but doesn’t view it as a problem.

Breakfast: Eggs, possibly bacon or ham, possibly not. Some kind of bread, usually banana, pumpkin, zucchini or cinnamon. Some kind of fruit. Juice or coffee.

Lunch: Mixed salad, no dressing. Fresh, raw veg, fruit, soft cheese, a sandwich. Water or iced tea.

Dinner: cooked veg, some kind of savory bread, some kind of non-poultry, non reptilian, non-gastropod meat. Soups, stirfrys and casseroles are pretty common. Hot tea, occasionally wine.

No birds and no reptiles ever.))

((Depends on who she’s talking to. A bit of an inferiority complex when faced with dragons. A bit of a moral superiority complex in the face of many others. Feeling superior about her powers however, only ever comes out when she feels she’s been treated with unacceptable disrespect; it is not her normal state of mind.))

Starting A Fire || Closed Starter with hellfire-hitman

It had been a long night of clearing out the old new hideout, shoving out old gross furniture that was left to rot, throwing out boxes of junk, and sorting through anything that might have some value at the local pawnshops scattered through Gotham. 

 As Edward was rummaging through yet another box, he came across a book. It wasn't particularly remarkable, but it had an odd draw to it, and as he ran a finger against the spine he noticed the faint scorch marks on the edges of the dark leather. He flipped through the pages, taking note of the spindly handwriting that ran through the yellowing paper before he stopped at an odly specific diagram and a phrase written at the top of it. Ed looked about before softly trying to speak the near jibberish that was written in the book and he internally noted that the room felt a lot more warmer than it should be.

He restarted halfway through the phrase, feeling as if he mispronounced one of the words and started talking a little louder, once again noting the rise in temperature as he drew near to the last couple of words. He paused to pull off his jacket and set it aside, finishing up the string of nonsense and then feeling something wash over him. It was a feeling as if he’d said something that wasn’t quiet right, but before he could set the book away it burst into flames.

On instinct, Nygma tossed it away from himself and backed off, watching as the flammable object quickly engulfed itself in bright red, yellow, orange, and white ribbons of heat. It wasn’t spreading anywhere else, so he watched helplessly while taking back his jacket to ready himself if it did take a chance and branch out to find new kindling.
