calloused fingers reach toward the round of bread, sharp eyes watchful on karlach's face all the while, though not out of wariness. he tears it in half, pieces roughly the same size. after looking at both, he hands her the one that isn't as burnt.

that earns a laugh, swollen with amusement, low in his throat. can't be making noises like that too loud, here. " much obliged. " it's been too long since he's received a genuine compliment, or at least one that makes him feel a little different than the ones from those he tends to serve do.
maybe it's a little selfish, but he'd like to keep this one around, if he could. graces are given to those in the kitchens that aren't given elsewhere. realistically, though, he knows they'll use her strength and imposing height elsewhere.

june looks at karlach with a curious, startled incomprehension. her eyes balloon, flickering over her clothes, her hair, her color, her horns. she makes all of this real, or her completely crazy, one.
she's slack-jawed in half-awe, half-disbelief. her head shakes, minutely. she can channel wolf girl, she can channel lady falconheart. there's no dice to roll here. it's all her, and the last thing she needs to do is scream about wanting and needing to go home to a place that doesn't exist in this -- world? realm?

. His hands were out, energy flooding from him to her, sealing wounds that spilled red across her already crimson skin. A hand remained on her elbow, feeling the heat of her engine despite the repairs Dammon had previously made.
"I can't heal all of them, but I've gotten the worst of it. I'm impressed you remained standing given the extent of your wounds. Sit a moment, Karlach." He motioned to the great petrified stump behind her.
