Matthew Goode micro-acting in Brideshead Revisited.  Matthew’s face transforms with a few tiny changes in expression.  At first he can’t quite believe that Julia is standing in front of him....and then he does.  Stunning to watch on the big screen - you pick up every subtle change in his face.

Goode Locations

More Goode locations that we spotted in Venice....

Recognise this from Brideshead Revisited?  It was Sebastian and Julia’s father’s  palazzo in Venice (on the right).  You can see the archway and gate where they all arrive to meet Lord Marchmain.  Charles also gazes at Julia looking out of the archway/gate at night.  I couldn’t get a better shot of the balcony where Charles looks out at Venice with Julia from where I was - but this pic  (from google search!) shows it better...

The house is the Palazzo Contarini dal Zaffo in the Dorsoduro district of Venice and it is right on the Grand Canal.  Sadly the garden is not as beautiful as seen in the movie - it’s very neglected.
