Ace in the Hole (1.1 -Loose)
The Chief reassured Theseus. He shuffled the spade on his arm and said, "I know. I know because you're not the first nor the last. Men enlist in the company not to diginify the dead, but to search. Just one big melancholy treasure hunt. Some of them find who they're looking for, but then they get all lost in the eyes themselves." The Chief pointed towards his pupils, two hooked gloveless fingers. He chuckled, "Right, I mean something's are better left unfound. But that's just me." He patted Theseus' shoulder. "Go on, better you go with them now. You were starting to go loose in the eyes yourself before that Soviet came." "But my service? I haven't even completed it-" "You got what you came for? I'd say complete is complete. I'll take care of the paperwork for you." Theseus laughed, an airy substition of a reaction he couldn't replicate at the second. "A good recommendation?" "A justifiably commendable one."
