Do you think bernard ever found the shirt tim wore during the day of shooting and saw the blood had left a stain on it? He washed the shirt again and again in the machine until the colors washed off and to no avail, because he could still see the stain when he looked at it for more than 2 seconds? Do you think he dipped it in bleach in a washtub on the dock, in his pajamas at 5 in the morning because he couldn't sleep all night thinking about that damned stain? And when the sun rose and shined on that shirt, it was still... still fucking there...

Do you think tim saw him enter back into the kitchen, stumbling, with very little spatial awareness, in verge of tears? And he cried, curled up against the wall and slowly descended to the ground in hiccups, every breath more harder than the previous because he was carrying death in his hands? And then maybe tim took notice of the shirt Bernard was holding sat on his knees to get to his level, ripped it gently from the hold of Bernard's contracted fingers, and wiped his tears with it. Shirt still damp, he pressed the shirt on his temple and cheeks for cooling, and Bernard opened his eyes, bloodied, from being awake all night and crying. He and Tim took the shirt out to dry, and Bernard did not see a stain.

"Let's go get some sleep." Tim patted on his shoulder.
