Fluff, a dash of angst, crack, and alien things
Hello My Alien Masterlist
You were anxiously walking in the dark night of Terran-03. Clutching the bag on your hand, you try to remember the young man's instructions. You take a careful look around before pressing a button on your transporter and rematerialize on a new location.
"Yah, we've talked about this! You cant just teleport wherever, whenever you want!" Was the first thing you heard from Hoseok after materializing into the kitchen. He was clutching his chest, the location in which humans store their life-sustaining core.
"I apologize sincerely for causing you discomfort." You reply as you kneel, bowing deeply in front of Hoseok who was taken aback by your humility. He waits for you to straighten up. You don't.
"Hey, that's enough, its not that big of a deal really..." He says, pulling you up. "Where did you learn that? Have you been watching historical dramas?" He chuckles.
"No... I just thought it was appropriate..." You answer shyly. You may be fluent in the language, but the culture was an entire different thing from your own.
"Well, keunjeol is only for elders or for royals you'll find on dramas, or for when you've done something grave. For us, you can do this, or this." Hoseok demonstrates a half bow and a full bow. "Get it?"
"Yes I understand. I thank you, kindly." You reply, applying the 30 degree bow.
Hoseok laughs proudly.
"Your formal Korean makes you sound like you're royalty. You know you can speak informally with us, right?" Hoseok continues the task at hand, starting the heat-generating platform used for food preparation.
"I'm afraid this is as far as my allspeak covers. But you are correct, I am royalty in my home planet." You smile, remembering fond memories of your home.
"Ah, really? you're a princess?"
"Yes but I am no longer viable to inherit the throne." You answer.
"Is it because you're a woman?" Hoseok predicts.
"What? That has nothing to do with the throne! I am not in the line of succession simply because I chose not to. Public service is not my calling." You answer, still wondering that gender probably means a lot to the Terran people.
Hoseok nods as you observe him beating the yellow yolk of poultry offspring. After a few moments, he speaks again.
"You know, we still haven't figured out what to call you."
"Jungkook has." You answer.
"Really? What does he call you?"
As if on cue, Jungkook bounds in from the flight of stairs.
"Noona! Did you get what I asked?" He leans his elbows on the kitchen counter, eyeing the environmentally hazardous bag on your hand.
"Yes I did." You place the plastic bag on the table as Hoseok observes.
"Jungkook, did you just make her run an errand?" Hoseok chastizes.
"Kinda. saves time because she just teleports in and out. Poof!" Jungkook answers, pulling out a six-pack banana milk, and a pack of ramyeon from the plastic bag.
Somewhere in between, Taehyung managed to sneak in the kitchen and overhear your conversation. His deep booming voice startles everyone when he asks
"JUNGKOOK DID YOU MAKE HER SHOPLIFT FROM THE STORE?!!"
"wHAT?! OF COURSE NOT!!" Jungkook answers in a similar fashion.
"CAN THE ALIENS IN THIS HOUSE PLEASE STOP GIVING ME HEART ATTACKS?!" Hoseok asks rhetorically, leaving the kitchen with his bowl of scrambled eggs.
"Why would you ask her to run an errand, let alone leave the dorm unsupervised?! At this time of the night??!" Taehyung continues to interrogate Jungkook.
"She wanted to learn the local cuisine!"
"This is what you call cuisine?!“ Taehyung points at the pack of banana milk.
"Its not what I was expecting, I must say, since bananas do not have mammary glands-" you try to contribute to the heated conversation.
"You are grounded." Taehyung points a finger at you while he continues to rifle through the bag of purchases.
"She cant have this, its too spicy." He slides off the pack of ramyon away.
"Good because this is for me." Jungkook picks it up.
"How much money did you give her?" Taehyung was still going on with the interrogation.
"I swear to you, I did not make her shoplift. Cross my heart." Jungkook answers while making a gesture you do not understand.
"Who shoplifted what?" Yoongi joins in upon entering the kitchen, still looking cranky since the first time you saw him.
"Nothing! Hobi made a midnight snack for you on the stove!" Jungkook covers up the argument at hand, offering food for distraction.
You closely watch Yoongi, scooping the said sustenance into a bowl and scoops one into his mouth. You inch your way to Taehyung, whispering to him while Yoongi continues to prepare his food.
"I was under the impression that he was a droid and therefore did not need food..." You tell him.
Taehyung's annoyed face dissolves into a repressed giggle while gesturing you to keep silent.
"What's going on?" Jungkook was shocked at how Taehyung's mood immediately lifts, prompted by whatever you just told him.
"Nothing." Taehyung puts his arm around you, directing you out of the room.
"We're heading out!" He announces to the rest of his housemates, driving you to the main door under his heavy arm.
"I thought I'm grounded?" You ask.
"We're grabbing dinner. You want to taste the local cuisine? I'll show you proper local cuisine." Taehyung answers, kneeling in front of you to help you with your shoelaces.
