Once you get this, you have to say five nice things about yourself publicly, then send it to ten of your favorite followers. <3

it's like maybe if i hop on the pvta and hang out at tunnel bar long enough i'll find my very own wildly attractive drug smuggler & live happily ever after
tunnel bar freaks me out so much, but it's probably more likely to set the scene for illicit interaction than say, packards -- i mean it's a creepy tunnel with plush armchairs? god she is so wildly attractive i feel weak

i wasn't being entirely serious, but: i recall during interviews with the actual piper after s1 indicating how different real larry is from character larry. the show apparently deviates from the book in a lot of ways, i'd imagine this is one of them.
hahaha me neither, i expect he is much different from her actual husband to distance any weird crossovers and create a more complex/interesting narrative... i just read the vanity fair interview w real alex though, it's pretty terrible, but enlightening. they never actually had sex in prison (disappointing) but i hope the wild deviations from reality also mean that piper doesn't actually have to end up with larry

this is normal. larry exists to be unequivocally loathed. that is larry's narrative function.
But Larry is a real person, he's a real man who married the real Piper -- I do think he is an intended antagonist, but I don't think his character was intended to be quite as hated and pathetic as he is. Or maybe she totally threw her husband under the bus, which would be fine with me tbh

bc i haven't gotten to properly discuss this season with anyone yet...is it supposed to have biblical undertones? also, the problem with larry is that he's not the kind of villain you see inside the prison -- vee, fig, etc. he's accessible.
I haven't finished s2 yet, can we discuss when I do? I have tried to engage my mom in discussion but sometimes it's awkward bc we casually don't mention all the explicit sex. But anyway, I will look out for biblical undertones (lbr most media can be analyzed in terms of biblical parallels) and I agree w you re: Larry. He is uncomfortably accessible. Especially with Piper having gone to Smith, meeting Alex in Northampton, it's just... weird. Also, he isn't an antagonist in the sense that he is out to get anyone, he (for the most part) believes he is doing is what he needs to do. That lack of self awareness is what makes me so angry. He is the most entitled fucker on tv and he's so fucking accurate. I probably won't deal with prison antagonists much in my life, but I have met Larrys. (I also have extreme issues w being embarrassed for others and I am constantly SO embarrassed for Larry that I have to look away haha)

i think that being an english teacher sounds terrifying
i agree. but i mean...it's a thing that lots of people do and there's constant demand. it definitely takes skill but it's not there type of thing where you basically have to work constantly for ten years with little income in order to possibly be successful.
me: yo stew still tasty girl
rayray: gir you know how i stew
