“Hey, can I ask you a couple questions?” Joker always feels like such a creeper doing this, but needs must, etcetera etcetera. “Don’t worry, I’m not the Humans of New York guy.” His face scrunches up into a grimace. “I’m from Buzzfeed, which I guess is worse.”
❛ it felt… right. felt like justice. ❜ - cmdrkote

it is an accident, overhearing the conversation. they have not spoken since the ship touched down on coruscant; cody had promised him distance, should he need it, and all obi-wan had wanted to do was hide himself away in his quarters until whatever storm of emotion within him had passed into the force.
so, it goes without saying, he has not asked how it felt for cody. bant, on the other hand, has had no such qualms. ( she did not like him when they were children; she’d come to like him less, as the years had gone on. obi-wan knows--- while she might understand the kind of loss that it is, she cannot be particularly aggrieved to have outlived qui-gon. )
they ended on poor terms, he and qui-gon. it does not seem to have changed his grief. it did not change the shock at seeing qui-gon’s body fall, a blaster bolt in his head. bant turns the corner --- he missed her goodbye, tangled in his own thoughts --- and he nearly walks into her. there’s a sadness in her expression, but something defiant, too, that tells him she knows what he’s heard and she isn’t sorry for having the conversation. they know each other well enough that she doesn’t need to say what he knows she’s thinking.
obi-wan finds himself at cody’s new senatorial quarters not long after, inexplicably apprehensive. things have changed, and not just between them. “i understand why you did--- what you did,” he says, in a burst of honesty that pulls itself forth unexpectedly. there is something unreadable written across cody’s features; obi-wan wants to ask, but doesn’t. cody’s words, not meant for him, ring in his mind: felt like justice. qui-gon jinn was many things; it’s time obi-wan set some of them aside. “---i’m sorry it took me so long.”

“No, listen, I’m making a character choice here. You can’t rope me in to run scenes with you and then criticise my choices as an actor, it’s incredibly rude. Okay? From ‘suspended sentence’.” He clears his throat. Kermit voice: “I stood in the courtroom like a fool. And those two bastards, they smiled at me. Then I said to my wife, ‘for justice, we must go to Don Corleone.’”
I finally found the perfect Big Bisexual Denim Jacket, rly trying to get a message across lately
