True/False: You prefer something sweet over something sour.

FALSE.

I don't actually have much of a sweet tooth. Given the choice, I usually prefer something savory, salty, or sour. Even when I have something sweet, it'll be something like sweet-tart fruit or chocolate-covered pretzels, something that still has a contrasting note of some kind. Prime example - my favorite dessert food is key lime pie.

Actually, I've been really into dill pickle potato chips and Sour Patch Kids lately....

Hello there Allec! Thank you for stopping by and giving me an oppertunity to listen and read for you with this reading. 

For your question, I shuffled and received the song Fade by Staind.

Those lyrics are the only part of the song that really stuck out to me while I was listening for you. I’m getting two equal but conflicting things for you with this song for your reading. 

On one hand, this song is telling me that you need to keep an open mind and an open heart during your travel to and through Ireland. I feel that there is a great oppertunity presented in this journey to face, learn from, and resolve something within yourself. While the song itself focuses specifically on anger, sorrow, regret, the things that bind us and hold us down in the past, I don’t feel like this is automatically the emotions that are woven through whatever it is that is set upon the path  for you to learn from, resolve, and grow from. It could be anything at all, honestly.

On the other hand, the song talks both about dealing with oneself, while also dealing with another person. And while I feel that a large part of the journey is about discovery and personal growth for yourself, on some level, I feel like there is someone involved with every step with your journey. It could be a deity  or a spirit. It could also be a person but every fibre of my being  is telling me that the nature of the person involved is otherworldly. 

While the relationship with the person talked about in the song is one full of conflict and filled with regret and resentment, I do not feel like the being involved is someone you are involved with are someone that you are inconflict with. If there is any conflict between you and them at all, it’s because you either don’t know the being involved on a foundational level or or you don’t know the true nature of the relationship you have with them or the kind of relationship they are seeking with you yet, or it is someone with whom you haven’t come to an understanding or an agreement with yet. I feel like that they are a guide of sorts on the journey ahead, at least on the spiritual level of your journey to Ireland. 

Besides the fact that Fade is one of my favorite songs from Staind and besides the fact that Staind is one of my favorite bands of all time, I have had a lot of experience with this song showing up in divination before, either for myself or for someone I am listening for, like here in this case. When it does show up when I am listening for someone, it is almost always there as a message or a warning for that person that something great that is holding them back, either from within or without, needs to be dealt with before that person can move on with their life. Like I said, this song doesn’t always have to be pointing out something that is negative in nature, though it has indeed come up in divination before for the purposes of shadow work as well, but most of the time when I am listening for someone and I hear this song show up for someone, it is something that is important to them or their life. It is something that they need to overcome and will almost always help them to become a better person for it in the end.

I hope that whatever your journey to Ireland brings you, that it brings you to where you need to go, where you need to be, and that you can benefit and grow from the experience.

Death, Ace of Pentacles, & Ten of Wands

You can best enlighten yourself by first doing away with all that has failed you in the past. Something I was told recently was if something hasn’t worked for you by now, move on to something else. Whatever tactics that you’ve been trying your best to learn or achieve let go of and look elsewhere. And I think you’ll definitely find something new and to your liking. Something that will give you that spark of inspiration and a sense of joy. My eyes are just stuck on the coin and it’s intricate details. To me this says that there will be something that catches your eye, something you may already be aware of. Something that you definitely want to study and learn. By all means pour yourself into it. Take all that you can from it. It will be daunting but the payoff feels worth it. I love how the Ace seems like a seed that grows into the forest that is the Ten of Wands. It will seem like a lot and it might be overwhelming just remember to be kind to yourself in the beginning. We were all new once and things do take time to learn. While I do encourage you to learn all you can, prioritize what interests you. Absorb what you can and when you feel like you’ve reached your threshold for knowledge for the day allow yourself to relax and decompress. If you try to take on more than you are able then things could easily overwhelm you. Know your limits and take your time.

(Eee so glad you're doing these!) Jaime walks into the Lantern Cafe. He orders a drink -- the strongest thing they got, alcoholic if possible -- and looks at Eoin. He sighs and says, "Hi I just... heard you can know things? I guess I want to know what direction I should be heading in... I'm a bit, ah, lost."

Truth be told, when Jaime comes into the cafe, it takes a couple minutes before Eoin remembers that he’s on duty; he hurriedly takes out his earbuds and stuffs them behind the front counter. The strongest drink they have? Eoin hesitates over the espresso machine, debating how many shots Jaime’s allowed, then slips over to the staff refrigerator and slides a bottle of beer across the counter, putting their finger to their lips. When Jaime is situated, Eoin turns to a colorful deck of cards: the Illuminated Tarot they’ve been keeping beside them. 

“Feeling lost, you say? Well, you and me both...but you’ve come to the right place, anyway.” He shuffles and cuts the deck, and then slides three cards towards Jaime: the Jack of Diamonds, Jack of Spades, and 3 of Spades. 

“Well, would you look at that?” says Eoin. “You’re at a crossroads for sure. See, the Jack of Diamonds says you’ve been learning and taking lots of little steps to grow and build your skills. See all these flowers on the card? You’ve been in a brighter place that allows you to nurture and bloom, but if you ask me, it’s time to move past that. Your life is getting more dangerous, but I think you’ve got to rise to meet that, and follow its lead. Maybe that means defending yourself more, or knowing when to be more sneaky and cunning.  It might seem colder and harsher than you’re used to, but seems to me that in some ways that’s what you really need.” They pause, to let this sink in. 

“Life’s not easy for you right now, is it?” Eoin asks. “With the three of spades, I mean. That’s always a grieving process, and you know things get worse before they’re better, or whatever? I’m not gonna lie: it’ll take time for you to understand everything you’re feeling, but you can’t run from the grief, or the fear, or anything, really. You can only face it when it calls.” 

His manner softens as he draws one more card: the six of spades. “I think you’ll get where you need to go though, in the end, even if you don’t know where that is yet. It seems here like you’re already on your way.”

He starts to collect the cards, but thinks better of it, letting Jaime take his time looking at the spread, and processing the reading as a whole.
