Aaaaah ;v; Eridan loves them both so much tbh...He feels ever so slightly different for each, which is something that grows a lil more with each time he notices they act different from each other.
With Hua it’s a little more of him looking up to Hua and respecting him and feeling a little more like a lusus and charge, but that may be because of Hua being human by nature? His feelings for Hua are still incredibly strong and very pale and he loves him to death and would protect him to death and back. Just Eridan’s feelings for him have taken a slightly more human turn rather than a troll’s perspective.
With Hue, Eridan feels purely pale for him, to Skaia and back. He feels more naturally pale with Hue more and more recently and with him he’s slightly more inclined to vent and have feelings jams with than with Hua. While he still feels super protective of Hue, just like Hua, he feels like he can relax more and let Hue protect him much easier. That being said, he also feels slightly safer with Hue than with Hua if only because Hue is a troll, and a fuchsia one at that while Hua is a squishy human.
All things aside though, the basics are the same. He’s incredibly pale for both and loves both to the end of the universe and back. He’d never be able to choose between the two because both make up his pale soulmate and without one he’d be very distraught and lost.
