my favorite term of endearment for whumpees is 'kid' or any version of it (kiddo, buddy, etc). i don't know what it is but it makes me feel things. characters not related to each other but that's their kid!! maybe they saw them grow up or maybe they only experienced part of their life but they love the character as if they're their own child. and seeing them hurt breaks their heart.

ngl i think it's a bit sad that people don't seem to be able to see the beauty in platonic love these days. ofc shipping has always been a thing in fandom culture but to see a story about a character forming bonds and making friends after being alone for most of their life and then making all of those connections about being in love is a bit.. meh to me.

a lot of people seem to see platonic love as less than romantic love. friends showing care and concern for each other immediately gets equalized to being in love instead of simply a good friend.

i really love it when a character is about to pass out and they try to hold onto something to catch themselves but whatever it is, it's unstable so it just falls over with them. or when they try to catch themselves on a table or something like that but instead of it helping, everything on it just ends up falling down with them. and possibly causes injury to the character.

#hellooo it's me #whump talk #whump #passing out #fainting #injury #honestly i just love fainting #it just really tickles my fancy #the way a character is completely vulnerable in those moments #and there's pretty much nothing they can do about it #and the confusion afterwards #even if they were only out for a few seconds #and then it takes a while to feel like themselves again #and the characters around them being so shocked #and immediately jumping into action #or maybe they freeze or panic #tapping the characters cheek to rouse them #and/or holding up their legs #the worried looks on their faces when character comes back around #i especially love it when they have a fever and pass out #because it means they're feeling rly bad and even when they come back around they'll still be sick #and caretaker is so worried they won't leave their side for even a second #especially if they maybe hit their head as they went down or something #ugh so good!#so tasty!

i know nightmares and such are brought up a lot when it comes to whump and fevers but! think of a character who doesn't usually dream anything, but gets nightmares as soon as they have even just a low-grade fever.

their friend/roommate/partner/whoever you want will know they're coming down with something when they start having bad dreams.

maybe they didn't know this before and get surprised when it happens. maybe they find them awake in the middle of the night and ask them about it and whumpee admits they had a nightmare and the other character comforts them and realizes they're actually running a fever!

or maybe they do know about it and when whumpee's noises/movements from their nightmare wakes them up, they immediately check for a fever and voilá, they feel a bit warm!

my favorite type of injury is a wound to the thigh (stabbed, shot, doesn't matter! they're all amazing)!

probably hurts like hell, can go really bad really fast if you want it to (with that i mean that they can die... quickly), or it can be 'just a flesh wound'!

if you're feeling freaky, you can still make your character suffer more with some complications! you can even break their bone if you want to!

you can have your stoic character trying to push through the injury, idk, make them walk a long distance!

or you can have your character needing help to walk!

such a wonderful injury! she is what gsw to the shoulder try to be in all these movies!

A sentence that makes me go feral is "I think I'm coming down with something." !!

It implies that something is off, they don't feel quite right. It's not bad yet, but it's a promise that it'll get worse.
