— Damon had pulled an all-nighter— of drinking. There hadn't been ANY sleep happening for a WHILE now— ever since he had dealt Katherine what he thought would be the killing blow. He could swear up and down that he hated her, throw cruel words in her face and act like he felt nothing for her all he liked but it didn't negate the truth— he'd always love her deep down beneath the pain. Her lies and betrayal had cut him so keenly that the only way to survive the blow was to project his feelings for her onto her doppelganger. Then he could pretend. Then he could hate Katherine Pierce. Then it wouldn't hurt anymore.

However, none of it buried the guilt and remorse of his latest actions. What he had done? It went beyond pretending to hate her. It went beyond anything she had EVER done to him. He was childish but that— THAT was attempting to murder the only girl he ever TRULY loved. Damon hated himself for it.

The vampire looked up from his second bottle of bourbon to see the object of his thoughts sleepily entering the dimly lit living room and frowned. Was it a trick of the light from the fireplace or did Katherine's hair really look streaked with gray? Damon's frown deepened as he stood, using the bottle of bourbon to distract her as he examined her once dark hair from above. "What the hell?" he muttered with genuine concern, lifting a lock of whitish hair to better examine it. "Huh," he observed almost silently, cerulean hues narrowing as he swallowed thickly— but went right into pretending not to care. "Uh, Kitty Kat? Are you TRYING to upstage Lily Munster? I don't think you're exactly Herman's type. You'd scare HIM with your... Katherine-ing-ing-NESS." he smirked, flipping the lock of gray hair into her face so she could see what he was talking about and made a quick— yet obviously drunken— swipe for the bottle.

Rapunzel knew how dangerous Katherine was - well, according to her peers, anyway. Perhaps dangerous was a strong word. But she knew that with one swift motion, the blonde’s life could cease to exist and she really wasn’t planning on that happening. Plus, Katherine was still under the assumption that Rapunzel was compelled; regardless, though, Rapunzel knew she had to help.
