Some Random Mayday Crew Headcanons

They all know how to do hair and make up really well, it's kinda a given in their profession while also knowing how to wear some really complex stuff. Verosika is of course the best at all of this tho and taught most of them.

When there traveling, they like to rent rooms close to one another or just a suite for them all to stay in, as they often borrow stuff from eachother.

Speaking of that, Vortex only loosely owns his own wardrobe as people often just borrow his shirts cause they just swaddle any of the crew that is not him, hell two succubi can fit in some of his sweaters so they love it, and while he allows it, he's certainly going to tease a little.

Aside from Verosika none them really like very formal clothing, which kinda forces her to wrangle the whole crew into fitting clothing if they have a formal event they have to go to.

All of the succubi have had to go on stage at some point, either Verosika isn't feeling up to it, or the act is a duet or simalirly requires multiple performers. They all really enjoy it for the most part, heck they've even dragged Vortex on stage so everyone's included sometimes.

They all genuinely care about eachother, like one big family, a lot like I.M.P just no one really wants to state it.

All the succubi can fly, though that doesn't mean all of them should XP

Anytime they have to go back to the office space, they all just mind their own buisness despite the constant drama that goes on across the hall, though a good few can't resist laughing at some of the stuff they hear going on.

Aside from Verosika, there all terrified of Millie after the whole fish thing, lowkey they were all silent when they saw her storm into the office after running into Chaz, they ain't getting mixed up in that.

Some of the crew, like Vortex, Ace, Josh etc have apoligized for the whole Ozzie's thing to Blitz, M&M. There nice people generally, just while they think Verosika went a bit far, they don't want to fight with her.

The Mayday Crew Deserves a Spin-Off

I know this seems a bit silly at the outset. Really? Them? A throwaway group of minor antagonists getting their own series? But honestly, after giving it some thought, I think there’s some merit to this concept.

Out of every group of antagonists introduced thus far, they are the biggest, giving the main cast of this supposed spin-off a lot of inter character relationships for the series to explore. Unlike Striker who is mostly a solo villain and the Cherubs who are more or less foils to IMP, the Mayday Crew has enough members to work really nicely as a big ensemble workplace comedy mixed with a dysfunctional found family. By having more than 3 central characters, it has room to exist as its own thing instead of just feeling like a clone of Helluva Boss.

There’s a lot of potentially compelling drama you could squeeze out of lust demons trying to navigate meaningful and healthy relationships. It’s an interesting dichotomy, and with Candy Apples (Coco x Apple) and Incubi (Josh x Ace) being canon ships, that’s already two relationships that can serve as foils to one another.

Helluva Boss has an irritatingly impressive knack for getting its audience invested in (or just simping for) its side characters, and of all the side characters introduced, I think the Mayday Crew has the most room to turn their group dynamic into something interesting.

There’s a chance to flip the script and show Blitz as an antagonist to Verosika’s crew instead of the other way around. There’s also a chance to create an interesting foil by seeing how say, Verosika and her crew treats Tex versus how Blitz and M&M treat Loona, as well as showing how different life is for higher status demons like Verosika compared to low-status imps.

As higher ranking demons, Verosika and by extention her crew have access to parts of both Hell and Earth that IMP simply lacks. Places like Ozzie’s are an extremely rare night out, whereas for someone of Verosika’s clout, she probably just waltzed past the bouncer like it was any boring old day. So, if the writers wanted an easier way to have characters rubbing elbows with the elites more often without always having to use Stolas, this is another approach they could use.

Because Verosika is famous and the Mayday Crew are her entourage, it’s also a great way to explore celebrity culture, idol worship, paparazzi, advertisements, and other sorts of pressures that someone of Verosika’s status has to deal with that someone like Blitz can avoid.

But while that’s all fine and good, what about the details? What would it be called? Who would be the star? What would be the focus? Well, I think the best candidate for main character would be Ace. It’s only my own personal headcanon, but I’ve always gotten the sense that he’s Verosika’s second-in-command, and we already have a show where the “boss” is the main character. Two actually, since Charlie is the CEO of the Happy Hotel. So, having a show star and primarily focus on the employees might be a nice change of pace. The unsung heroes who break their backs to make the celebrity look good. Her back-up dancers or vocalists, stylists, choreographers, assistants, groupies, or whatever all of their individual job descriptions end up being, someone as big as Verosika needs a full time team to keep her afloat, and that could be an interesting focal point for the Mayday Crew beyond just being an excuse for more dirty jokes and sexual inuendos. So, a show that follows Ace as he works to maintain order and peace in Verosika’s chaotic little clique while also trying to apease his bitch of a boss feels like a good basis for a show, and since he also has a blossoming relationship with Josh (which the fans already are interested in) this gives free reign to develop them as characters and put them through relationship issues, with Apple and Coco serving as the other primary couple. And since we don’t want a repeat of M&M who are meant to be a subversion of standard Hell relationships, this means we’re likely to see and deal with two problematic relationships where the partners are trying, but aren’t as perfect and sweet as Millie and Moxxie. As for what the show would be called... why not just Mayday! Verosika strikes me as a drama queen meltdown sort of boss, so anytime anything goes wrong, it’s time to set off the alarms. It’s a little cheeky, but I think it has room to work. Is it perfect? No. The Mayday Crew is extremely flat. Their only real personalities come through fan headcanons. But they’ve managed to be relatively popular, and there’s enough of them to make an interesting ensemble cast out of them. Whether it becomes its own completely separate entity, or it just becomes a standalone episode of Helluva Boss, I think there’s something there that has the potential to become one Helluva show.

I saw your Apple x Coco hc post and I thought maybe once things are patched up between V and Blitz, the Succubi Crew starts showing interest in I.M.P? Like they wanna learn how to use guns, knives, create makeshift weapons and bombs, wear bowties like Moxxie, etc. Could you hc what each members'  specialty would be?

First of all, thank you so much for my first ask 💖 I'm don't know that much about weapons but I'm gonna do my best, so here we go.

Verosika: Long range weapons like guns and crossbows would be her specialty but I think she could use anything and she'd be the most resourceful out of the group. If she was backed into a corner, Molotovs would be everywhere.

Apple: Another would be an all rounder, able to use anything, but her expertise and favourite things to use would be explosives. She just loves the chaos of them. Though she can only use them as a last resort because those things attract way to much attention.

Coco: Knives. Especially throwing knives. Something about her cool and calm demeanour just makes me think she'd have the patience and the focus to master these.

Ace: Blunt weapons and anything that can be paired up with hand to hand contact. Ace is probably the strongest out off all the succubae, so he probably wouldn't need a lot to take someone out. Maybe a pair of spiked knuckledusters would be his go to.

Josh: Josh comes across to me as being very graceful, so dual weapons suit him the best. Something like the twin blades Zuko used when he was the Blue Spirit. Or instead, maybe a spear or a staff with sharpened ends, so he can slice and stab while fighting with style.

Kiki: Something about her strikes me as an excellent sniper so any kind of sniper riffle would be her jam. Though she'd probably test out a bunch before finding her favourite.

Kat: I'm kinda torn on Kat. Kat strikes me as someone with a mile-a-minute mind. One that's just constantly spewing out creativity 24/7 and he'd excel at making and customising weapons for himself and his team. But I also I feel like he'd be agile enough to only need one of two things. A knife or a baseball bat with nails in it.

Milky: Guns again but specifically, her specialty would be machine guns and anything else that shots a shit load of rounds a second. I can just picture her walking into a room full of people trying to kill her and then you just hear nonstop gunshots, then she walks back out again, leaving everyone else on the floor.

Vortex: A bit of a wildcard because I think Vortex would have a similar fighting style to Loona, only he's probably way more experienced, knows some form of martial arts and if someone goes through a window, it's probably because of him. I also have a feeling he could crush a human with his bear hands. He has strength and a jaw full of razor sharp teeth. I don't think he'd need much else. If he did use a weapon though, also machine guns. The big motherfuckers, like the one Heavy uses. They make him feel like a badass.

What would a team up between Verosika's crew & IMP against dhorks look like?

I.M.P and Mayday Crew Team Up

Probably like utter chaos, but harmonious chaos like I.M.Ps first fight with them, for some more drama let's say 1 and 2 have gotten some more agents to help them. (Descriptions of gore)

This time Moxxie has the bag, handing out weapons when he isn't shooting at the agents himself to the mayday crew all of them taking to wielding them surprisingly well, at least the ones who need a weapon. Loona and Vortex are a tornado of claws, teeth, and back breaking grapples. Apple pierces an agents head on her spiked wooden board spinning around allowing Coco to smash it with her bat, the dark skinned succubus looking fondly at her girlfriend before Apple embraces her.

Ace gets an Agent with a full nelson allowing Josh the opening to slit their throat with his knife, the body drops to the floor as Ace scoops him up for a kiss in-between kills before hearing Kiki yell at them for getting sidetracked, before she gets back to sniping the stragglers left behind in Kat's explosive rampage. Milky and Millie take turns with the wrath imp's giant axe becoming a deadly dance of blades.

Verosika yells out a intentionally late warning to an agent before she runs them over with her car for once not minding getting blood on it, her white hair flowing in the wind behind her as she drives, Blitzo is beside her in the passenger seat, raining shots from his dual shot guns out to the agents who managed to survive the other demons. All of them coating the battle ground in the blood of fools.

Oh this is a really good ask, I'll try to do my best to give it justice, I also decided to include Verosika and Vortex just to cover bases if your not just referring to the background succubi.

Verosika and her crew getting interested in weapons and I.M.P teaching them and what they like using.

Verosika: She took a while to admit she was interested, to her even though her and Blitzo made up she still tries to avoid him cause it's awkward and she thought it would be even more awkward to ask her ex boyfriend to teach her how to use a gun. But after all the others did it she relented and walked across the hall with the excuse it was ONLY to avoid another situation with the Human Police (It's not because she thinks learning how to use weapon would be cool, no of course not). But even then to me She feels like a minimalist, only carrying around the most basic stuff and outright refusing to use makeshift stuff or bombs, she finds them too messy, I think she would carry around a small pistol (Perhaps bedazzled cause she's glam) and maybe something like a butterfly knife, and would probably keep them in her boot (Cause having them in pockets would ruin her silhouette)

Vortex: Personally I can't see him using a weapon, I think he would probably fight like Loona but probably with less slashes and more grabs and throws. That's all I have to say for him honestly, maybe a barbed baseball bat, i don't know

Josh: Knives. Knife king, he just get's obsessed with every type of knife and will now be carrying at least ten on his person at all times. Every kind, Butterfly, switch blade, bow tie knife, throwing knives just a ton of blades so much so anyone who touches him has a 50% chance of getting pricked, Also has lowkey done that knife circle thing the Joker did in Suicide Squad and Ace walked in and Josh was just like "What?"

Coco: I honestly see her just packing a baseball bat and using it to chuck grenades at whatever is unfortunate to look a like a good target. It's a show that Apple enjoys watching, while all the others are just looking on in terror at the sight. silently wondering why she doesn't just work at I.M.P.

Apple: Makeshift Queen. Ever play Dead Rising? I haven't but you get to combine almost everything you find into weapons and that is Apple's style in a nutshell. She will make stuff as simple as the humble board with nails in it to something as ludicrous as another board she covered in razor blades from shavers she stole from everyone else. Everyone tries to keep a close eye on their personal belongings from now on or else Apple will make a weapon out of it. It will be good but your not getting stuff back.

Kat: They adore any weapon that makes everything chaotic. So he's get's interested in automatic firearms and explosives, AKA an Uzi and just a ton of different explosives which he will detonate as he laughs maniacally. Sadly he doesn't really get much chance to do that but everyone knows to keep him away from someone who might annoy them or else the concert will literally go up in flames.

Milky: Ohhhh... Her and Millie would be fast friends. Milky get's teased about her height a lot and now she has a perfect reaction to those people. Pull out a knife, baseball bat, sword, axe or any variety of melee weapon to terrify them into silence, This is lowkey how she got Kat to stop picking on her. Her and Millie also borrow eachother's weapons just to try new stuff out once in a while.

Kiki: Is the polar opposite of her brother's style, Instead of intentionally making things chaotic Kiki likes to end things with a single well aimed shot. That is to say she's a really good sniper that Moxxie trained so she's even better, She is kinda bitter she can't bring her rifle most of the time but she will sneak it with her sometimes just for target practice.

Ace: The Messier the better, He likes shot guns, Baseball bats, generally just anything that's bound to have a lot of blood splatter and Verosika just knows Blitzo is giving him all this stuff but he won't admit it so she just groans and tries to have Ace calm down a bit so no one ends up covered in blood by the time any fight they end up in is over. Also Ace and Josh fighting together is just... cool melee power couple stuff I guess.

Ace and Josh are an off and on sorta thing, much to everyone's chagrin as they break up and get back together constantly.

Josh does it mainly cause the whole "play hard to get" mindset.

Most of them have experimented with their relationship's with each other at some point with only Coco and Apple finding they can work an actual relationship, with Josh and Ace just being eternally a will they won't they situation.

Apple grew up in the Wrath ring and knows Sallie May, but has no Idea her and Millie are related

Kat is non binary He/They pronouns. He also act's like a gremlin

Kat and Kiki are siblings.

Coco was born and raised in Pride.

They have all had offers from Valentino to work for him, Verosika as well, they all of course refused because that Moth is a dirtbag.

Vortex is the only one in the entire team with a brain cell and kinda has to drag some of them to do their job.

Apple and Coco get lost in each others eyes constantly, Ace will be too busy flirting with Josh, Kat will constantly tease Milky for her height making Kiki have to hold her back so she doesn't attack them and it's all just a whole mess Vortex has to deal with.

Luckliy he and the others who formed a brain cell for once essentially banned Verosika from bringing her flask on any more missions after the fish incident.

She's still bitter.

When they ended up across the hall from I.M.P again they and Verosika decided to blast pop music through the walls and since it was Vortex's day off he couldn't tell them how bad of an idea that was.

The next day I.M.P (Mainly just Blitzo and Millie as Moxxie's warning were ignored and Loona had already run off to give Vortex a spare pair of noise cancelling headphones which she had as well) blasted incredibly loud rock music as revenge causing the Succubi to turn their music on again on full blast the entire ordeal causing multiple windows to shatter and giving everyone involved with slight hearing damage for a week afterwards

Both sides have promised to keep their music down from now on.

And how would they interact with Millie?

Josh: She's not a huge fan of him, mainly cause he flirts with Moxxie, She's fine with Blitzo doing it cause he is her boss and a good friend but with Josh she does not hold back how annoyed she is with him, though she's more passive aggressive to him then just aggressive. And Josh just kinda likes how annoyed he makes her so he keeps doing it, though he has backed off for a bit if she pulls out any of her weapons which she has done on occasion.

Coco: Coco and her are quite friendly with each other, Apple and Millie become friends so Coco doesn't want to be mean to her girlfriend's friend. But they do like hanging out if they can

Apple: As previously stated Apple and Millie become fast friends because their similarly cheery nature, They even try to get cool gifts for each other whenever the Posse ends up in the building and they keep in touch when they aren't.

Kat: As I mentioned in the Moxxie one, Millie does not trust him and does not like how they constantly try to scare her husband. When she confronted him they just said "Then keep a better eye on him", Millie did and the next time Kat tried something she pulled out a knife very close to his throat. He doesn't do it as much now and Millie flashes a smug grin whenever she walks by him these days.

Milky: Best buddies, they bond over how people underestimate them for their height and Millie teaches Milky a couple things about weaponry, and let's her borrow some of hers if she asks to. Millie is somewhat proud how she sorta has a prodigy now as well.

Kiki: Kiki was probably the first succubi Millie started to like because I headcanon she would apologize for the fish incident so they have been on decent terms since before Blitzo and Verosika made up. Kiki also is Millie's go to person to talk to if she wants to do something feminine she doesn't have a lot experience in, like style her hair a certain way or paint her nails (Or claws...? I don't know)

Ace: Unlike with his boyfriend, Ace is actually pretty cool with Millie, he also kinda loves how she just whacked Fizzaroli over the head with a guitar and asks her for tips on technique with melee weapons so he's also somewhat of a prodigy like Milky to Millie.
