You awoke the next morning to Striker draped lazily over your torso; blankets casually nestled around both your waists. You gently caressed your fingers along Striker's scars on his shoulders remembering the conversation from the previous night. Striker shifted with a groggy moan as his eyes fluttered open to look up at you, a small sleepy smile spreading across his features. "Morning," You offered returning the smile. "Mornin'," Striker retorted Laying together for a few more moments the two of you eventually decided to get up, taking turns at the shower before meeting in the kitchen. Settling down with some coffee both imps were simply wearing loose fitting jogging pants, scrolling lazily through your phones. Striker was the first to break the silence looking up from his phone clearing his throat. "So, I was wonderin' somethin'," Striker started drawing your attention away from your own phone. "Oh? What's that?" You asked arching an eyebrow curiously. "How attached to this shitty place are Ya?" Striker asked continuing his train of thought. "Um...not really...why?" You answered still highly confused by the line of questioning "Well, I've seen Ya fight and Ya can hold yer own, so I was thinkin' perhaps you'd like ta join me...become a hitman," Striker explained taking a sip of coffee afterwards "Really? You want me to become a hitman with you?" You asked in absolute disbelief "Yeah, if Ya want," Striker shrugged casually
“I think I’d be an idiot to turn down that offer,” You responded with a smirk
Later that day you grabbed an old duffle bag that was in the bottom of your closet, packed it and followed Striker out of the apartment. The two of you walked into the landlord’s office where you tossed your keys on his desk explaining you didn’t want the apartment anymore, he attempted to argue with you when Striker stepped forwards shoving a knife into the desks surface. The landlord jerked in fear as the pale imp snarled angrily reiterating that you were leaving with him and the apartment was no longer needed, nodding furiously in agreement the landlord allowed the two of you to leave with no further issue.
Striker mounted Bombproof first then extended a hand, helping you climb up behind him and with a click of his tongue the stallion started off. The two of you rode till the sun was beginning to set at which point Striker brought Bombproof to a halt in the middle of nowhere, fields for miles. You helped set up a camp site including lighting a campfire allowing Striker to prepare some dinner for the two of you, after eating you settled down next to Striker who’d pulled out a guitar. Night set in with the two of you relaxing under the moon when the sound of rustling nearby caught you both off guard, Striker setting his guitar down to pull his pistol from its holster followed by you doing the same and getting into a crouching position. Staring out into the darkness Striker’s tail began to rattle as a warning to whomever might be trying to sneak up on the two of you.
Through the darkness lunged a bulky male demon with scaly, navy-blue skin, 5 sickly green eyes and spikes that protruded from his body in various areas. Striker’s smirk grew wider flashing those sharp teeth of his as his tail rattled louder with a deep hiss erupting from his chest. The demon gave a snarl in turn barreling towards Striker who got off a shot however it missed as the demon dodged out of the way, lashing out with a long whipping tail that smacked Striker’s pistol out of his hand. The pale imp growled irritably before lunging at the hulking demon using his smaller stature to slink around the behemoths form. You meanwhile used a little trick that you’d not shown off yet, focusing your scales began to ripple eventually turning you invisible allowing you to quietly slip around the brawling duo of Striker and the demon. Removing your cloths to become fully invisible you situated yourself in the darkness to hide the pistol you were currently holding as you couldn’t make it invisible.
Striker managed to hold his own well unfortunately his maneuvers were taking a lot more out of him then the ones the demon were making leading to a single lapse in judgement that earned the pale imp a punch to the face. Landing on his back Striker clutched at his cheek with a grunt of pain when a shot rang out followed by the demon giving a grunt then crumpling to the ground revealing a gunshot to the back of his head. Striker’s eyes grew wide as you emerged from the darkness slowly becoming visible again, butt naked. Kneeling you put your pistol on the ground to help Striker sit up, eyebrows knitted together in concern at seeing the red mark on his cheek already swelling.
“Are you alright?” You asked still ignoring your naked state
“Yeah…I’ve never seen Ya do that before,” Striker stated, arching an eyebrow towards you.
“What? Oh, the invisibility thing… yeah, I can manipulate my scales to blend with my environment unfortunately I need to be out of my cloths,” You explained caressing your fingers lightly over the mark on Striker’s jaw making him wince.
“I’m not complainin’,” Striker chuckled
“Ha-ha, I’m sure you’re not. Hold still…I’ll get dressed and get you something for that,” You instructed pointing at Striker’s cheek.
You got dressed then grabbed some herbs from your duffle along with a mortar and pestle, grinding the herbs into a paste while Striker watched on in fascination. You smeared the concoction onto a cloth then handed it to Striker instructing him to place it on the injury which he obeyed with out argument. Settling back down the two of you fell into silence for a while until Striker broke it that is.
“Yer far more interestin’ then I could have ever guessed,” Striker commented absently as he pulled the cloth from his face.
“Ha, you have no idea,” You retorted with a laugh
“I look forward to figurin’ it all out,” Striker scoffed with a smirk
“Hmm, I look forward to informing you,” You smirked back
Scooting a little closer to Striker, you leaned in till the two of you shared a gentle kiss. You looked forward to the adventures the two of you would have despite the potential danger
