Reposted from @karmagawa ⚠️GRAPHIC IMAGES/SAD BREAKING NEWS: PLEASE SHARE AND DONATE TO OUR NEW FUNDRAISER TO HELP THE AFGHAN PEOPLE!⚠️ Tens of thousands of Afghans have gathered at the airport who have been promised sanctuary by western nations, but due to the Taliban blocking them from entering the airport, there have been several empty/nearly-empty planes taking off for countries like The Netherlands, Australia, France, Italy and Germany. One tragic video shows women pleading with US troops to let them into the airport because as they say, “the Taliban are coming for me”. Despite yesterday’s Taliban press conference promoting more moderate views, images of the Taliban cracking down on a protest with bloodied women and children beaten by fighters are already contradicting that message. 4 people were reportedly killed in the protest and 13 injured and video shows crowds running as gunfire was heard. There’s also reports of women and children being beaten/whipped as they attempt to pass through checkpoints set up by the militants despite assurances of “safe passage”. Is it any wonder why so many Afghans are so desperate to escape? Sadly, this might quickly become a large humanitarian disaster so we at Karmagawa have setup a fundraiser to help the Afghan people and we will be donating 100% of the funds raised to our charity partners @partnersrelief @savethechildren and several more charities we’re talking with to help provide fleeing/displaced Afghans with food, water, medical treatment and temporary shelter in their time of need.
