Oh my god just saw someone say that the different generations of Soukoku show all the different ways wars can affect people and my life is changed

Zenki Soukoku - directly fought in the war, saw deaths first hand. (also special mention to fukuchi because his war trauma led to the last few arcs of bsd etc)

Soukoku- children during the war suffering with identity issues + not feeling human (ok not much known about dazai backstory before 14 but still) but the whole experimentation of chuuya as a child (stormbringer) due to the need for an unbeatable weapon and seeing people even children just as objects to use for victory which leads to the identity issues and feeling a lack of humanity as they were never given that by society

Shin Soukoku - born at end/aftermath of war, caused to be abandoned/orphaned due to instability and economic issues leading to abuse, poverty, loneliness leading to have an inherent need to prove themselves to have value in a world where they were taught that they had none
