hello! sorry if you get asked this a lot but i see your mash screencaps and they are So Crisp and Beautiful and i was wondering how you get them so clean! do you watch mash on the dvds or maybe on some kind of HD copy? i’m also a screencap guy and i love crispness so any info you have is appreciated. thank you! :)

Aw thank you! I take my screencaps from the HD versions on Disney+, which unfortunately do have the laugh track and are cropped to 16:9 aspect ratio (I think those HD versions are on Hulu in the U.S.?). After taking the caps, I’ve been doing a bit of cleaning up and brightening/sharpening (on the last two posts anyway, not on the first two screencap spams).

On the topic of HD MASH, I desperately wish we could get a DVD or blu ray release of the HD version of the episodes with the original aspect ratio and with the option to switch off the laugh track, but sadly that’s not happened yet. 😔

the four seasons and/or sweet liberty

both are great (though i think i like the four seasons slightly more overall); we love alan alda’s movies in this house and i think they’re probably the two strongest cinematic projects from him as a director

as a filmmaker alan alda was good at creating vibes but bad at making cohesive movies. the spring scene in the four seasons is one of my favorite cooking/eating scenes but i don't know how he was allowed to make sweet liberty

sdfjksldfjklsl i get this; i think his movies are VERY fun but not *~high art~* that being said i do enjoy them despite the lack of cohesion 😂

i was doing some research on gena rowlands and one thing led to another and i found out that her and mr cassavetes' son directed the notebook. honestly not sure what to do with this information (which you probably already know) but my mind? is boggled

not only did nick cassavetes direct the notebook, but gena is in it with james garner!!!!!!!!!!!! nick really carried on the rowlands-cassavetes tradition of putting their parents in films they made
