helplessly hoping
" -- they are one person, they are two alone, they are three together, they are four for each other -- "
spring, unexpected by mark and most of the citizens, humans and mutants alike, of busan, seemed different this year, this occurring due to two reasons --
first, busan, like what seemed like the rest of the world, had gone into an unfortunate deep freeze, trash can sized 'twisters' of nippy winds and muddled snow chilling every street corner and alleyway, making it virtually impossible to go about an 'outdoor' lifestyle, so to speak, without bundling oneself up.
(of course, however, this was changing -- with every passing day from february to late march, the skies became clearer and silver linings turned from an every day occurrence into a thing of the past). however, in comparison to the first, the second reason why this spring seemed different from springs of years before was due to a different type of spring, a 'mutant' spring of sorts, where those with different genes made themselves known to the world --
not necessarily in the most positive light, at that.
what could mark do about it? nothing. but what did mark feel like he could do? much more than that -- with every step he took, every movement he made, he could feel it, the burden on his shoulders, increasing in weight and in size, the necessity to make the world a better place forced into his hands.
-- however, in stark contrast to this, the only thing in his hands at this time would be none other than his dog's leash.
so mark jogged along some of the acceptable streets of busan, making his way to the greater busan district, abet mindlessly at that, before stopping at street vendor for hardly a second to buy a bottle of water.
and within that second, mark's grip on molang's leash loosened.
and within that second, molang was off, tail wagging, fur flowing in the breeze ... with a wide eyed mark sprinting after him, turning a sharp corner to follow the dog and seeing it circling around a young woman's legs.
approaching both her and his pup, he sighed, bending down for a moment to reattach his leash to molang's collar before speaking.
"ah shit, i'm really, really sorry for any trouble he gave you."
