After reading today’s entry, my mind started playing that one ending of an episode of Helsing Ultimate Abridged - the one with the dramatic music as it cuts to all the characters mentally preparing themselves for the next phase of the plot, as Alucard laughs while now stuck on the boat and goes “I better not miss a damn thing.” The Demeter entry juxtaposed with Mina’s dread in her entry was just reminding me of the building suspense there.

And then it hit me. That whole plot point of Alucard being stuck on the boat all alone, before making his dramatic entrance mid-way into the invasion of Britain. That’s a reference to this point in Dracula, isn’t it? The original Helsing Ultimate put Alucard on the boat all alone as a reference to Dracula’s arrival in Britain. Goddammit.

And that’s not even getting into Dio from Jojo, traveling by boat in his own coffin hideout, briefly spooking a crew mate too, after disposing of his own Jonathon.
