Born to an adventurous family, much of Mariana's early years were spent on trips out into the wilderness. She and her brother went to school of course, their time off however was spent on hikes and camping trips. They were known for taking their kids out for weeks at a time, with only the local rangers knowing where they were.
When Mari was 12, one such adventure took a dangerous and dark turn. The family's camp was found ravaged, presumably by a bear and a rescue was mounted to find the family. Though their parents were never found, Mari and her younger brother, Silas (7 at the time) were found miles away dehydrated and bloodied but alive. Mari had no memory of what happened but between the jagged cuts in her side and her brother's account they were certain a bear had wandered into their camp and tragedy struck.
With no family willing to take on two kids, they ended up in the system and were ultimately adopted by the Grayson Young. The transition was a struggle for both of them, dealing with grief and ptsd from the attack. Mari eventually settled in, finding happiness in her new family but Silas never quite adjusted. He believed their mom was out there somewhere, often running away to find her. Over time Mari learned to accept that and stopped trying to bring him home. As much as she had loved her biological parents, she'd had also known the darker side of the Vargas family business, a world she was more than happy to be rid of.
Her adventures were never far behind her, despite the attack and the nightmares and night terrors that plagued her she still went on hikes, even kept up with the yearly camping trip. Between her intrigue over the healing spring and her knowledge of the medicinal properties of plants she often supplements her income at the bakery by offering herbal remedies from the plants she grows in her garden and greenhouse.

he was originally born in miami, florida xander's parents gave him up for adoption the moment he was born (04/01/89). he was quickly adopted by a newly married couple and soon relocated to greenville, maine.
xander's new home was warm for the most part, occasionally he and his siblings would get in trouble for some misbehaving. he grew up very aware of the fact that he was adopted but it never bothered him, and his family never made him anything less than loved over that fact. his parents were honest about his biological ones and wouldn't hesitate to give him answers to questions he had, if they had said answers.
he grew up to be a social type of person and very easily made friends wherever he went. he always greeted everyone with a bright smile, because he always wanted to be a reason that someone's world turned upside if it was gloomy. he became fascinated with video gaming from the moment his father introduced him and his siblings to super smash bros. from that moment forward, his passion arose. his older sibling became the reason that xander's passion for music blossomed. from a young age, he picked up a pic and guitar. he was in a punk rock band from the ages of fourteen through sixteen. they only broke up because of his friends moved out of town.
one thing that he never stopped doing was singing. he continued to sing, more so in the shower, and hoped one day he'd be able to perform once more. after graduating high school, xander left to attend colombia university school of the arts in new york. he wanted to ultimately get a degree in film, but complications with his mom's health put that dream on hold for a while. after a year and a half of attending the university, xander returned home to help take care of his mom.
his mom ends up passing when he is twenty-six, a loss that he took pretty hard. rather than turning to drugs or alchohol to cope with the loss, he turns to video gaming as an escape. for a while he works as a clerk at the local little game shop in his town, eventually becoming a manager. a year ago, however, xander got the itch for something more out of life. as sad as it was to leave a place he's known as home for pretty much his entire life, he wanted to hit the reset button just once.
he came across hemlock spring thanks to one of his online gaming buddies who actually lived there. they had known each other for a couple of years, facetiming and all. he works as a bartender at devil's den and even though it's only been two weeks, xander is enjoying his time in hemlock springs.

born on one cold day in the month of january (1/14/1991).
he's always been a huge fan of is MMA fighting, it's a sport he and his grandfather would watch every saturday when there was one on. he studied their moves, made his notes, and told himself that one day he was going to be one of them. he promised himself.
his dream seemed to be off to a good start as he began hitting the gym more, staying as much out of trouble as he could, and even began to train. his father was very supportive, always pushing him to go the extra mile. his mother was constantly worried for his safety, overall, she also supported him just as much.
every match he had the guy would fight as if it were his last. he didn't lose often, but he did have his loses. he had plenty of rivals and he loved them for it. in his opinion, they were a reason to push his training even more. his favorite rival, however, was sudesh basra. for some reason, he always enjoyed pushing his buttons.
unfortunately, trouble came rearing its ugly head around the corner. one night, at around 2am, he went out to pick up a friend who claimed they were too drunk to drive. what they didn't tell him was they were planning on robbing a home of someone they had been keeping an eye on for a couple of days and needed a scapegoat; something mathias ended up becoming. he refused to confess the truth and ended up paying the price for it by serving 6 years in jail.
he leaned on his family a lot while he was serving time. thankfully, it seemed like a lot of them believed his innocence. his time in jail wasn't the best or the worst. he had made some friends, though he favored angelo cortes out of all the jail mates he met. sometimes he would get in trouble for fighting, but for the most part he tried to do his time as peacefully as possible.
he was twenty-six when he got out of jail (just turned 20 when he got in) and instead of going back to hemlock springs, mathias headed towards new york city. he lived in nyc for a total of two years before he up and left to do a bit of van life.
eventually he made it back to hemlock springs. he sold his van, got a place in riverside, and settled down in hemlock springs again. he's been back for a year now. so far, if you ask him, he's done a pretty good job at keeping out of trouble. if you don't count the occasional drunken bar fight.

raised by a loving and large family, sudesh’s parents (a british indian mother and an indian father from america) divorced when he was young, and despite it being tough, it ultimately ended in a bigger and larger family. he loves his step siblings as though they’re his own, particularly his younger sister aria with whom he is the closest to. family gatherings are far but weird, they’re full of love and food.
originally enrolling in karate when he was young — as a form of self-defence against bullies — everything really started when his parents caved in to his relentless begging to join a school wrestling club, which soon lead to mixed martial arts training and camps. while he was academically smart, studying to become a nutritionist always played in the background for somebody who liked to be on his toes.
hard of hearing in one ear due to a complicated perforated eardrum, has trouble locating sounds.
his final score 14-6-1. most mixed martial arts athletes retire in their mid to late thirties and bash was no exception, he was aware of the wear and tear long before retiring, the repetitive concussions already manifesting in headaches and forgetfulness.

born in hemlock springs, on one cold winter day in the month of december (12/24/1996).
from a young age valeria jimenez didn't have a father. on the same day she was being born, her father got lost on his way to the hospital. he left them with nothing more than a 'i'm sorry :(' note on the table. although her father's absence did not weaken either of them, it made them stronger, and from a young age valeria learned how to be independent.
she six when she watched the selena movie. from that moment on, she was in love with selena quintanilla. not only did valeria have a passion for singing, but the young child also had the talent for it. as she grew, she began to do selena covers at local restaurants her mom would waitress at. it helped bring a little bit more income, and she got sing, it was a win-win for both of them.
the older valeria got though it was clear that she needed to focus on a job that would let her help her mom out more, rather than on her dream of becoming a professional singer one day. little by little, her dream became nothing but a fantasy. soon she was going to school for nursing while at the same time working at a local diner as a waitress to help her mom out/pay for school.
it was her twenty-second birthday when everything changed for valeria. she waited, and waited, for her mother to come home after work so they could celebrate a bit. but her mom never came home. as it turned out, she ended up in a tragic accident and lost her life instantly. a month after her mother's passing, valeria left hemlock springs for the very first time.
she lived in los angeles for a bit, then new york, back to hemlock springs, then chicago, california, and finally returning to hemlock springs. every place she has lived she was either couch surfing at a friends or she was sleeping on the floor of some random strangers place.
valeria went where she felt there was an opportunity for her to revisit her singing career. at one point, she thought that dream was finally going to become a reality. unfortunately, she ended up in a very toxic relationship with a person who never had intentions of helping her out. she eventually escaped one night when her now ex was asleep, which is what lead her back to hemlock springs.
valeria kept to herself for a while after her return back home. she didn't even entertain the thought of singing anymore, until she met alvaro. thanks to him , valeria has been able to get back up and pursue her career. the moment she became his mentee, valeria swears that she finally felt a sense of family again. she trusts in his guidance full heartedly, and valeria is incredibly loyal to alvaro.

akiak (goes by aki) had always been curious about outer space and everything spooky. from a young age he enjoyed watching horror movies with his father, which is why they have a special place in his heart to this day.
growing up he was reserved most of the time. he wanted to grow up to either be an astronaut or a horror film director. in school he strived to be a pretty straight a student, not really going out much, and keeping in line as much as possible.
he started going out a little more when he began dating angelo. for one, he wanted to see his boyfriend more. for another, his parents did not know about his curiosities, and he had never been too sure how to tell them either.
after graduation, things with angelo fell apart. akiak ended up moving away for school and the two of them lost contact. during his college years, akiak got mixed up with the wrong crowd. he did more partying than studying and began to be less focused on his future. he picked up cocaine as a form of keeping himself focused in classes after long nights out, sometimes using it to help him study before an exam.

born in chicago, illinois, on one hot summer day in the month of june (06/13/1994).
from a young age andreas has always been intrigued by the culinary arts. if he wasn't outside playing with neighborhood kids, doing chores, or working on their cars with his father, andreas was inside watching his mother cook. he'd spend hours in his bed when he was supposed to be long asleep just watching cooking videos.
the moment he saw his first fast and furious movie, andreas fell in love with the need for speed. to this day, whenever he drives, it's like the guy has a lead foot, andreas is not shy about testing the speed limits. he's gotten tickets over it, but he just can't help it sometimes.
one negative trait he inherited from his father was the old man's temper. unfortunately, both of the kodtić men have terribly short fuses that tend to go off pretty easily. his temper caused andreas to get into a lot of fights in high school, which caused him to get suspended a lot of the time from school. he grew a reputation for being a troublemaker in school even though most of the fights he got into were either to defend something getting bullied or defend himself.
during his senior year of high school, his father passed due to a terminal illness. because of this his mom had to tap into the college fund they had set up for andreas to help pay for both medical and funeral expenses. even though he understood why the money had to be used, he was frustrated. the frustration was shared between his dream and his father dying.
up until a year ago, when he moved to hemlock springs, andreas was working as a mechanic and helping his mom pay the bills. he moved away because things got a little messy between himself and a guy in a gang who was in the upper ranks. he didn't want them to find out where his mom lived, andreas would never forgive himself if something happened to her because of him.
he has found a home in the 365 diner family, and he's happy he gets to do what he loves. his temper is still something he's working on, as it still gets him into trouble from time to time, but for the most part he tries to live a relatively lowkey life.

orignally from portland, arden is an only child, their parents divorced when they were young and she was primarily raised by her dad.
they do have a good relationship with their mother but they've just always been closer with their dad.
growing up arden was a "tomboy", always getting into scrapes, troubles and helping their dad fix things.
their fascination with cars started when their dad bought an old car, the pair worked together to do it up.
eventually, they grew up and decided they wanted to be a mechanic, their dad was super supportive and that's what happened!!
in their early twenties, they met a guy and arden ended up falling in love with him. one thing led to another, arden became pregnant.
the couple moved into together, they decided to keep the baby and everyone was super excited.
their daughter was born and for the first week everything was "fine", but arden was lying.
she struggled to connect with her daughter, ivy, that "new born spark" wasn't there, it was awkward.
ALSO at this time, arden was starting to realise that she wasn't vibing with the whole, being a girl thing. it was a whole confusing mess.
they broke things off with ivy's dad and moved back in with her dad, who was very helpful in looking after little baby ivy.
they went to therapy, they got diagnosed with postpartum depression. they also looked into the different types of genders & realised that they were non-binary.
it was at this point that ivy's dad decided he wanted out & so he decided to dip, leaving arden on their own.
this threw her back a little bit but they eventually got back up again & decided to move to somewhere new.
four years ago, they settled in hemlock springs, with ivy, they live in a cute but small house in riverside.
she works at a local garage as a mechanic, they still love fixing cars!! big fan of that!!
themselves and ivy are a dream team, arden adores ivy now, you'll never see one without the other, they are the cutest.
now arden is happy, working on themselves and feeling a whole lot better about their life!!
