Akiak couldn't blame Sudesh if he didn't believe in the process, Aki wouldn't have either if it were anyone other than Sudesh convincing him of stepping out of his comfort zone. He silently really hoped that Sudesh would agree to another walk amongst nature if asked again, if only because it seemed to be one of the few places that he felt most relaxed. "Well, Mr. Impatient, we are heading to that spot there." He points to a spot located on top of the trail they were following. "Don't worry, there's a bench you can rest once we get up there. Beyond that, honestly, I'm not sure where the end point is." He chuckles at the mention of the Blair Witch and Hills Have Eyes, both fantastic movies in their own right. "I was thinking about saving the supernatural and horror encounters for at least the third forest trail date of ours." Implying that he hoped they did this again. He reaches the top of the trail and goes over to where the bench is located. Right in the middle, facing the view of the sun. "If I kill you, who would I take to get drinks and ice cream?" He teased, playfully winking. As he sits, he looks to the sun, just couple more minutes before sunset. Besides the sounds of nature, there is a silence that passes by and it's a comforting one to Akiak. "So," he says, after a couple of minutes, turning to look at Sudesh, a playful smirk pulling at his lips, "drinks and ice cream, huh? That's all I have to do to get back in your good books?"
"Mr. Impatient? You should change my name on your phone." Sudesh repeats with amusement. It's not the first time he's been called that, and he knows it will not be the last, but the joking nature in which Aki said it was a change.
While the nature on the way up was notable it didn't hit Sudesh until he took a few minutes to let himself relax and simply observe, the beautiful colours of the near sunset making him realise he can't remember the last he saw one. While he preferred adrenaline coursing through his veins he was starting to see why people liked this sort of thing. Maybe. But as quick as he considered, the thought soon changed as he places his hand down on the bench and feels the warmth of Aki's nearby.
"Pretty much. What can I say? I'm an easily persuadable guy," he says with a grin knowing it's the furthest thing from the truth. In reality, he's stubborn even when he knows something is good for him. "I never said I'm letting you pay before you start getting ideas," Sudesh is quick to point out. For a second he contemplates nudging his hand closer, but he's never been confident with touch unless it's violence. "To be honest, I don't mind what we're doing and you're—" words weren't his strong suit either, "—you're too cute when you smile like that to be in my bad books."

"I think we both know that I'm a lover, not a fighter." Romeo says with a cheeky grin, tucking some hair behind his ear. "Life's good. Work keeps me busy, but I don't mind it." Rome had never been much if a complainer, even though he sometimes had plenty to complain about. But right now, like was good. They had their family and their health, and that was all he could ever want and ask for. "I'm probably going to have to travel for work soon, but I might take a few extra days and make a trip out of it. I deserve a break."
"I don't think they're mutually exclusive." Sudesh holds his hands up in defence even though he knows there's room to argue, his own pair having doing more harm than good even though he wishes it was the opposite way around. "While that was the least entertaining gossip of my life," he feigns a disappointed look which soon softens to lopsided smile, "I'm happy you're doing good, bro. Why don't you make it a week or two? Listen to the devil on your shoulder, me, and make it a vacation vacation." A pause has Sudesh takes another gulp of his drink. "Where are you headed, anyways? Somewhere nice?"
Akiak could not help but to softly chuckle, and smile, at Sudesh right now. He did feel a little guilty because he had failed to warn the other about the number of bugs they'd probably encounter, especially this time of year. "You'll just have to trust the process," he replies, offering an apologetic smile. "It's okay if you don't end up becoming one with nature," Aki says, "I'm just happy you're on a walk with me. And look, I'm no fan of the bugs either. They can be quite annoying." Another chuckle leaves his lips, waving away a couple of gnats. Luckily the spot Aki wanted to take Sudesh to was not too much further ahead. In his opinion this particular spot had a nice view of the sunset, which he hoped the other would enjoy. "We aren't going much further. I promise." He stops for a second to look over in the direction of the sun, trying to gauge how much time they had before it fully set, then continued their walk. "How do you feel to me treating you to some drinks or ice cream after this?"
"Yeah, yeah. Trusting the process." Sudesh tries to reply with scepticism but the other person's smile soon forces one of his own. Truth be told, he knows deep down he'd do this again if the same company asked even if there were a hundred bugs. "Where are we going, anyways?" He asks, stopping when Aki stops to also look around. Not that he knew anything about where they were. "Does this thing even have an end point? Kinda surprised we haven't had a Blair Witch or Hills Have Eyes moment yet." As always Sudesh is unapologetic with his nerdiness whether it be games or bad horror movies, it speaks volumes how much he still thinks about that in the middle of a hike. "Unless you plan to kill me then I can't go for drinks and ice cream." A pause as nothing Sudesh says is serious, showing this by turning to Aki with a playful smile. "I'm down, by the way. You need to get back into my good books after this." Spoiler, he's already in the good books.
"Remember when I said leg day wasn't so bad? I lied." Romeo points out, shaking their head. The compliment makes him grin though, pushing some hair out of his face. "Thanks, pal. I work very hard to look like this. Clearly." It was true though. Since being in remission, Rome had done his best to stay in shape. He owed himself that much, he thought, to at least take care of his body. "You're not so bad yourself...even if your form is questionable."
"That's because I'm the leg master. Not the stairmaster but a close second." Sudesh replies with a laugh, knowing his jokes are bad but pleased with them regardless. "Calf and quads are where it's at when you throw fists so thank me when you gotta knock somebody out." He pauses a second before carrying on. "In self defensive or for money, of course." Which is comical considering he can count on one hand the punches he's thrown outside of the ring, his friends know it's reserved for people who absolutely deserve it. "How's life, anyways? Can't miss the post leg gossip session."

Abe never really enjoyed referring to himself as a 'gym bro' but that was probably a pretty accurate way to describe him. He genuinely enjoyed going to the gym and being active, however. Perhaps not necessarily running on a treadmill or an elliptical, but boxing, swimming, weight training and such, he loved it. And luckily for him, he had garnered himself a friend to be on that fitness journey with him.
He and Bash also had quite a few things in common which helped make the friendship more than just two dudes working out together, which he appreciated. Abe sat on the bench of the locker room in a pair of shorts and a towel draped over his head as he worked on drying off his hair from the shower he just took, "Pretty good session today, I think." The man commented with his thick southern accent, glancing towards his friend, "I think next time we should do some swimming. What do you think?"
Throughout his career Sudesh routinely trained with other people, be it a slew of former instructors or fellow athletes, so when he retired always being the headphones in type of guy soon became monotonous. While it's true he liked to be in his own world on the treadmill, some days he needed people to motivate him and more importantly to have fun with. It's why he values his time with Abe now more than ever.
"I'm telling you, in another life you have been in the UFC." Was a compliment that Sudesh rarely gave out but after pad training and sparring with his friend for years he knew when he saw potential. "It's rare we do ring names and shit but—" there's a pause as pulls a can of Liquid Death from his bag, an old sponsorship that he actually enjoyed, and offers it for Abe to take "—what would you name yourself? I always think what I would have called myself and they're all goofy." No doubt something from an old video game. Now back to Abe's question before he sidetracked himself.
"Swimming. Same day, same time?"

"Quick question, how the fuck is this relaxing?" Sudesh asks as he lands an audible slap to the side of his neck, attempting to swat yet another bug he felt there. It had to the be fourth one so far. If somebody had told him that he'd be on a hiking trail two months ago he'd have laughed in their face and that's the thought that's running through his head. It's more comical that it's with somebody he hasn't known for long. However, as he looks over to the person he's walking with Sudesh is remind why Aki was impossible to say 'no' to. "I want to get it. I want to be one with nature or whatever but—" he's aware he sounds ungrateful, especially after the bug slap, so he offers a small but pained apologetic smile, "—I don't get it."

When Sian jumped into her bed asking for breakfast, Hyuna's first reaction was to snuggle up with her son and ask him to lay there with her for a while longer. She'd gone to bed so late last night doing inventory that it felt like she'd barely touched the pillow and was already being woken up. Seeing as Sian insisted on having breakfast, with her, he'd pointed out, the shop owner told the little boy to ask uncle Bash to make him something. What Hyuna wasn't expecting, was for her three-year-old to come back into her room, practically dragging his uncle Bash with him and asking for a family breakfast.
Letting out a sigh, Hyuna sat up in bed, running her fingers through her short hair, then looked up at Bash. "When do they start oversleeping again?" She asked her best friend, before climbing out of bed. "Okay, okay, little guy. Let's go. You up and running yet, uncle Bash?"
Sudesh had always been a fuck around and find out type of guy but living with his good friend and her three-year-old child is never something he envisioned. It's not something he regrets, though. The cheaper rent had helped with getting Ready Player One off the ground, the spare room now had a purpose, and more importunately there was company which he didn't even know he needed. As somebody who thought he thrived on living alone, it was a confusing revelation.
Even now as he appears at the door of Hyuna's room, announcing his presence with a small knock before leaning in with an apologetic expression, he didn't regret it. "You gotta believe me when I said I tried to stop him coming in here but he's as stubborn as you." Despite the gruffness of Sudeh's morning voice, a corner of his lip lifts to show he's joking. "I hope it's soon. Ain't nothing coffee can't fix, though." Now looking down to Sian who still latched on to his hand, he playfully wiggles his fingers. "What's on the menu now we're all awake, little man?"

"Alright, alright. I'm tapping out." Romeo says with a soft laugh, wiping his face off with a towel. Grabbing their water bottle, he takes a few gulps, wiping his mouth with the back of their hand. "I'm gonna need a minute. My legs feel like jelly."
Everybody had their least favorite thing to work on and Sudesh's was always legs. Even throughout his career, it had always been legs. Especially now as he barely finished his Bulgarian split squat, sitting on the bench his foot was on with a groan. "Jelly is an understatement." He too laughs, pushing his hair off his face as it slicks back with sweat. "I was ready to tap but I couldn't let you beat me, Ro. Even though your form was solid and mine was fucking questionable. Let the old man have one thing because, fuck, you're built like a Greek god."

"I've been told I have a strong sense of self and am not easily influenced," Raul said with a crooked smile. He happily opened the top of his beer; the familiar hiss popped up. Raul kept the cooler open as a silent sort of offering, before explaining, "I used to work in a home for foster kids, so they made us do all those personality assessments."
He moved over a little to make room. He was nothing if not a fan of party tricks and it wasn't like the shower was starting anytime soon. Tiger sat up a little more, amber eyes latching onto their company. "The cat wants to see, too. So, I feel like you have to now," he quipped, curiosity killed the cat and satisfaction brought it back.
"Now that's what I call an introduction." Sudesh replies as his eyebrows raise in amusement, taking up the offer of an empty seat as he lowers himself to the ground with an audible groan. While he reminds himself he no longer has to train as though he's still fighting it's force of habit for somebody who always likes to be on his toes.
"Strong sense of self, worked with foster kids, and got a cat on a leash. Give the single men of Hemlock a chance," he repeats playfully. "But okay, okay. I can't disappoint you and—" Sudesh speaks while leaning over to grab two bottles from the open cooler but pauses realising he doesn't know the cat's name. Using one hand to hold the neck of both bottles, the other tentatively starts to reach out, his gentleness quite a contrast to how they've been used to fight in the past. "Is it safe to pet? Cats are either cute or waiting to rip off my hand and there's no between."
