So, I don’t like going into much detail about anything regarding my personal life on the internet. It tends to make me uncomfortable but I will for y’all bc I promised a fic and haven’t delivered, and I’m really sorry. I’m working on it, I promise! But there was this whole debacle that ended up having me lose the fic so I had to start all over and by then there was just zero inspiration or even will to start over cause I was so so so proud of what I’d accomplished. My girlfriend said that if I didn’t want to start over I should just write a completely different one so that’s what I’m doing bc she’s angel with amazing advice. I started the new fic a week ago-ish bc I just regained access to google docs about a month ago, and school has recently started so I’m very busy and I have no idea when the fic will come just that its coming!

honey, you’ve got a big storm coming (aka here’s some summer hcs!)
- so they don’t have many outdoor swimming places bc it’s really cold in indiana
- but they do have an indoor pool at the high school that goes unused during the summer
- steve’s on the swim team so he snatches they key
- he gives it to the kids when they complain about having nothing to do
- el doesn’t know how to swim and doesn’t have a swimsuiut
- max was a surfer in california so she’s quite talented and lets el borrow a one piece, leaving herself no choice but to wear her two piece
- they all sneak in really early in the morning so they have all day
- lucas is totally one of those dudes who wears a swim shirt
- will does too
- they’re both very scrawny and get cold easily
- max and el take over the shallow side so that max can teach her gf how to swim :”)
- will and mike kick around a lot and just float because will is so light he can’t go to the bottom of the pool at all
- mike’s hair is like a shaggy dog’s when wet
- will likes to ruffle it
- there is one point where there’s a bit like in the movie “It” where all the boys are staring at max in her swimsuit
- she flips them off and el flips them into the pool
- “that’s disgusting, she’s my girlfriend you weirdos”
- dustin was still wearing his shirt when he got flipped and so its all waterlogged and clinging to him and lucas is already sweating
- lucas is just staring at dustin as he takes off his shirt and he swears that it wasn’t that warm before
- everyone else is losing it because lucas is stock still staring
- they’re 16 so they actually look like humans now
- and lucas hasn’t seen dustin shirtless since they were 12
- “need to excuse yourself for a moment lucas?” “fuck off wheeler”
- dustin shakes out his hair and stares at lucas with the wet curls in his face and he’s all flushed
- “you ok lando?”
- lucas dunks his head under and attempts to ignore the MAD blush on his face
- dustin’s like “what did i do? guys? stop laughing.”
- the entire summer when they swim lucas can’t control his blush every time dustin takes off his shirt or gets out of the water with his hair all in his face
- until one day the turntables
- lucas decides to take off his swim shirt (erica was teasing him for it)
- and dustin’s like, did this boy always have biceps?
- max is losing it because the boys are both checking each other out and they don’t know
- they meet each other’s eyes after both blatantly staring at each other for like a minute
- dustin smiles goofily and lucas blushes and flops back into the water
Theres always all these headcanons about parents catching couples making out/doing delinquent things, but imagine if Steve (maybe with Jonathan idk) caught henclair in some kind of act

- they don’t like hanging out at lucas’s house because of erica (nosy) so they usually end up hanging at dustin’s since his mom doesn’t snoop
- hanging out can mean homework to cuddling to making out
- when they cuddle its rare they stay cuddling because they’re sweaty and lanky and have trouble fitting together just yet
- this particular day it means making out because it’s friday and they’re in the height of puberty
- but keep in mind they’re like 17 during this, so its getting a bit heated
- lucas loves giving dustin hickies so he’s going to TOWN
- meanwhile steve comes home and hes ready to tell dustin he’s here and maybe talk shit abt kathy in 6th period
- he yells i’m home and no one yells back so steve gets Worried Mother Mode out
- barges into dustin’s room, no preamble
- steve stares because there’s his Lil Bro with his shirt rucked up and his Lil Bro’s best friend with his hands under the kids shirt and lips on his neck
- lucas doesn’t pull away he just eeps and shoves his head in dustin’s chest hiding
- dustin is really red
- steve is staring in horror
- “uh, close the door steve” “we’re talking about this”
- lucas rolls his face over to look at steve and nearly yells “not now!”
- dustin nods in agreement because he’s kinda needy
- steve slowly leaves the room and locks the door from the outside (the boys can unlock it from the inside)
- he totally yells “use protection” lets be real
- later, when everything is finished ;)))))))) steve awkwardly knocks on the door and then begins a combination birds and bees and shovel talk
- They’re super fricking adorable
- Lucas does everything in his power to make Dustin smile bc it’s so fLIPPING CUTE!!!
- Dustin tells cheesy jokes and pickup lines to make Lucas laugh, and Lucas pretends to hate it but is terrible at hiding how much he loves it
- they hold hands a lot but esp. when one or both is scared/extra happy/extra worried/etc.
- Max teases them but Lucas teases her about El/Jane

- when they can drive they go to drive-ins for date nights bc they always have the best milkshakes
- cheesy 80′s rom-coms with the rest of the party in the Wheeler’s basement every Saturday night
